Vince Young player info of the number 3 of the NFL football draft picks! |
Number 3 Pick: Tennessee Titans – Vince Young (QB, Texas Longhorns)
Vince Young played arguably the greatest National Championship football game of all time against favorite USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl. This game instantly catapulted Vince Young from returning as Quarterback to Texas for his senior season to a sure fire top 5 pick of the NFL Football draft picks. Many thought Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow would talk the team into drafting Matt Leienart, as he coached him in his days at USC, but the Titans made it obvious who they wanted in the days before the draft. Vince Young is 6-5, 230 pounds and very fast for a Quarterback. He will give the Titans the passes/runner combination that is becoming such a vital component for NFL Football quarterbacks. Young is also a very similar quarterback to Steve McNair, so the Titans offense should suit Young well. He has a very quick release and an outstanding feel for the game of football. Some of the things NFL scouts worried about were his awkward quarterback mechanics, inability to read defenses, and that he is more of a raw athlete than an NFL Football quarterback at this juncture. If Young lives up to potential, he will be one of the great quarterbacks in the game for a long time.
