Number 7 Pick: Oakland Raiders – Michael Huff (LB, Texas Longhorns)
Michael Huff, who received the Thorpe Award for the nation’s best defensive back in the 2005 college football season, should be a good fit in the Raiders organization as a cornerback. The 6’0, 204 pound play maker and the number seven of all the NFL Football picks in the 2006 draft was a real ball-hawk for the National Champion Longhorns last year. He has blazing speed and can cover a range of different types of receivers in the NFL. Huff not only creates many turnovers as a cornerback in the National Football League, he can also bring them right to the house for touchdowns. Some of the concerns about Huff as a defensive back as the number seven of the picks in NFL Football are that he is neither a true safety nor a true cornerback. Also, Huff was a bit of a big play gambler at Texas and in attempts to make big plays got beat a few times by good receivers in college football. All and all, Huff should make a fine player as the number seven of the NFL Football draft picks.
