Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 Dallas Cowboys. Read for information on what to expect from the Cowboys for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
The Dallas Cowboys started off 2007 looking like one of the top teams in the NFL. Tony Romo looked like a franchise player until after Thanksgiving. Then he started throwing INTs and fumbling the football. It may or may not have had anything to do with the media circus surrounding Romo’s social life, but with both Romo and Owens, the media is not going to be far behind. The Cowboys ended up losing a close one in the playoffs, just like in 2006. Dallas is ready to take the next step and win in the 2008 playoffs.
The Cowboys were able to plug up some holes in the first round of the 2008 draft with running back Felix Jones and cornerback Mike Jenkins. Jones will help share the load with Marion Barber by adding depth and speed to the backfield. The Cowboys sought to bolster the secondary with Jenkins, but also by drafting Orlando Scandrick out of Boise State and picking up Adam “Pacman” Jones.
The Cowboys have a tough end to their 2008 schedule. On Thanksgiving they host Seattle, followed by an away game at Pittsburgh, home against the Giants, and the final game of the season versus Philadelphia. Depending on how the season goes, a playoff appearance could hinge on the Philadelphia game. Despite the tough ending to their schedule, Dallas is only better due to their off-season roster tweaking. After a 13 – 3 season last year, they are one of the favorites to go to the Superbowl this year.
