Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 Denver Broncos. Read for information on what to expect from the Broncos for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
The Broncos played a poor season in 2007 coming in a distant second in the AFC West to division winning San Diego. They know that they need to compete better against San Diego if they have any chance of making the AFC West a race this year.
Jay Cutler threw for almost 3,500 yards, showing the rest of the NFL that he can play quarterback. His stats round out with an over 60 percent completion rate, and 20 touchdowns. The hardest part for Cutler is finding a go to receiver. If he is able to improve his game in 2008, he will place himself among the best quarterbacks in the league.
In the off-season the Broncos aimed towards shoring up their secondary by signing Marlon McCree. The Broncos should have a tough pass defense with McCree and veteran Champ Bailey. Denver also looked to strengthen their offensive line with the pick up of Ryan Clady in the 2008 draft. Selvin Young will have a lot more room to run this year. Besides Young, the Bronco backfield is loaded with depth and talent. This is a team that should contend for a wild card.
The end of the schedule is tough for the Broncos with five road games in the last eight weeks. They don’t want their playoff hopes to come down to the final game of the season at San Diego. The Broncos need to play good football at the start of the year to be in position for the playoffs.
