Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 Kansas City Chiefs. Read for information on what to expect from the Chiefs for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
The Chiefs produced a disappointing season in 2007 with only 4 wins. Coach Herman Edwards is rebuilding the Chiefs through the NFL draft. The Chiefs had a good draft this year adding a lot of young talent. If Larry Johnson stays healthy and Brody Coyle asserts himself as the starting quarterback, Kansas City will be much improved over last year.
Kansas City has made it a point of riding the shoulders of Larry Johnson. The offensive line needs to play well to allow Johnson to have a good year. This team will go as far as Larry Johnson takes them. The offense still has some of the best football talent in the league with Tony Gonzales still playing as the best tight end in the NFL. Dwayne Bowe is a good receiver giving the Chiefs another option through the air.
The Chiefs had a good draft. Many consider it one of the best drafts of 2008. The crown jewel of their draft was Glenn Dorsey from LSU. Dorsey should prove to be an NFL star. They also picked up a great blocker in Brandon Albert, which should help Larry Johnson get moving. They used the later rounds to add depth with Jamal Charles, Will Franklin and Brandon Flowers. Flowers may prove to be one of the great picks from 2008.
Kansas City begins the season in a tough fashion with an opening game in New England. They trade away and home games until their bye in Week 6. They also have the task of playing the San Diego Chargers twice.
