Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 Minnesota Vikings. Read for information on what to expect from the Vikings for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
This is an exciting team to watch with Adrian Peterson in the backfield. If the Vikings can get more consistent play out of the quarterback position they will make a move in the NFC North. The running back position and the defense carried the Vikings to an 8 – 8 record in 2007. Tavarius Jackson will need to step up his game to take the win total into double digits in 2008.
The Vikings shored up their defense with the acquisition of DE Jarrod Allen. They gave up three picks for Allen, but now have a NFL sack specialist in his prime. Allen and Pro Bowl DTs Kevin and Pat Williams make the defensive line one of the best in the NFL. This defense will give the offense room to operate pressure free without playing catch up.
The Vikings open up a tough schedule on Monday Night Football at Green Bay. They go on to host the Colts, and then back on the road at Tennessee and New Orleans. This is a tough test for a young offensive team. However, if they are able to get off the blocks in a winning fashion they may be able to contend for the NFC North. Coach Brad Childress is feeling a bit of pressure this year and that may affect how he handles the team. Their season ends at home against the Super Bowl Champion Giants.
