Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 New England Patriots. Read for information on what to expect from the Patriots for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
Both on the field and off the field, the New England Patriots provided plenty of drama for the NFL. Despite the drama of Spygate, the Patriots remain the preeminent team in the league. Coming off an undefeated regular season, a close Super Bowl loss, and a great draft, the Patriots are looking to be back in the hunt for another Super Bowl in 2008.
The Patriots did very well in the 2008 NFL draft to shore up their defense by adding linebacker Jerod Mayo out of Tennessee and cornerback Terrence Wheatley out of Colorado. Michigan rookie Shawn Crable has an opportunity to develop at linebacker without immediate pressure. Victor Hobson was picked up from the Jets to fill the gap left by Junior Seau, while Fernando Bryant will help keep the secondary tough. Overall, this team is still loaded with talent. They have picked up rookie talent and patched up some losses on defense with good off season moves. This is also the team that has the leadership of Tom Brady and the hands of Randy Moss.
The New England Patriots are beneficiaries of a good schedule with tough games coming on the road against the Chargers, Colts, and Seahawks. Odds on repeating the perfect regular season are long, but don’t count this team out of another Super Bowl appearance.
