Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 Philadelphia Eagles. Read for information on what to expect from the Eagles for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
While the 2007 Eagles were busy filling up the disabled list, the 2008 version is looking forward to putting themselves back in contention. This team is a lot better than their last year record indicates.
Donavan McNabb is still the player to watch. If he can stay on the field and off the DL this offense will be able to score at will once again. The best news for Brian Westbrook is the acquisition of wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Not only should Jackson contribute right away as a receiver, he will return kicks, taking a load off of Westbrook’s shoulders. Lorenzo Booker will also share the load in the backfield with Westbrook, using his speed and hands to contribute to the Eagles wide open offense. On defense the major concern is that CB Lito Sheppard is not happy with his contract. Once he irons his contract out, he will join new Eagle CB Asante Samuel in making the secondary one of the NFL’s best.
The 2008 Philadelphia Eagles deepened their roster with their 2008 NFL draft picks. This is a positive for a team so depleted by injury in past seasons. The Eagles season may come down to the last month of their schedule, with games on the road against the Giants and the Redskins and at home versus the Cowboys.
