Bankroll Sports columnists have provided an NFL football team preview on the 2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Read for information on what to expect from the Buccaneers for the upcoming 2008 NFL Football Picks season. |
The Buccaneers are looking to build on a 9 – 7 campaign. The defense remains solid but is slowing down because of age. The offense is moderate and can use the talents of another go to receiver other than Joey Galloway.
Tampa Bay surprised a bit in the draft by skipping wide receivers and going with a corner back in the first round. Tampa Bay chose Aqib Talib out of Kansas over the local favorite Mike Jenkins. Rather than picking from a sub par group of receivers in the first round, the Buccaneers went with defense and waited until the second round to get Appalachian State’s Dexter Jackson for the receiving corps. Both picks showcase great speed and kick return skills.
Tampa Bay’s schedule gets more difficult as the season progresses. They will play all three of their NFC South rivals from the 12th to the 14th games of the season. The only team that stands in the way of another Tampa division title is Carolina.
