Oklahoma Sooners Heisman quarterback Sam Bradford was another one of the biggest names in the country to announce he would forego a chance at the NFL. The Sooners are receiving the highest odds to win the National Championship outside of Florida. Oklahoma lost two of their biggest weapons on offense in standouts Juaquin Iglesias and Jermaine Gresham. Oklahoma will have to replace these talented receiving targets along with a few more losses if their potent offense is to return to the field and make a run at the 2010 Title. Oklahoma stands at 450+ odds to win it all in 2010, but they may be asking for a lot of unknown names to step up for Bradford on the offensive side of the ball. Oklahoma’s defense should be solid as they were much of the season in the Big 12. The Sooners defense opposed to their offense could be the difference maker in helping aid a Title run.

There are a few other teams that are receiving high odds to be crowned National Champions in 2010 and they are some teams to seem to be in the running every year. The USC Trojans are +700 favorites to win the Championship in 2010. However, the Trojans may have more positions to fill than any other top team on the board. USC lost the core of their relentless defense from a year ago as well as Mark Sanchez behind center. Ohio State is among favorites to win the Championship as well receiving +900 odds. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor could really have a breakout season if he shows signs of improvement from the off-season. Pryor had the Ohio State offense clicking at the end of the season last year and nearly pulled off an improbable upset over Texas in the Fiesta Bowl. Speaking of the Longhorns they are another highly praised team in the early talks of the 2010 BCS Championship. Colt McCoy will be back, but like Bradford may inherit a young talented group of receivers. Texas odds to win it all are +800, but the biggest component to how they perform next season will come from how those young receivers develop as the year progresses.
Other teams to watch for and to consider making an early wager with very profitable odds include a group of potential breakout teams. Alabama missed making a National Championship appearance by only one game last year after having an undefeated regular season in the ridiculously tough SEC. Nick Saban is performing a heck of coaching job down in Tuscaloosa and the time for one of the most prominent teams in College Football making a return to Championship stage seems to be inevitable. Alabama is receiving very profitable odds at +2500 which gives interest to many early bettors. Another team out of the SEC receiving early praises is the LSU Tigers. A year after having a down season in terms of LSU standards the Tigers are building another Championship caliber defense down in Death Valley and if they are able to put some points on the board this season they could be tough to beat as well. While the BCS Championship is still a good time a way, the time for betting on these teams is now considering the best odds are before the season starts when the odds drop considerably. Take the time now to place a wager on potential winner of the 2010 BCS National Championship.
