# 8 Brigham Young Cougars (4-0) @ Utah State Aggies (1-3)
Time: 8:00pm ET
Spread: BYU –29
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Brigham Young Cougars will continue their march towards a possible BCS title game on Friday night. This time, they are taking the road to Logan Utah to face the Aggies of Utah State. The Cougars come into the game 4-0, while the Aggies sit at 1-3. With wins over Northern Iowa, Washington, UCLA and Wyoming, three of the four have been decided by more than three touchdowns. In the last two games, the Cougars have not been scored upon. In those games turned the ball over ten times to aid the Cougars defensive cause. For Utah State coming in 1-3, and allowing 168 points in four games, the Aggies look to rebound and come away with the programs biggest win in history. With three straight losses to UNLV, Oregon and Utah, the Aggies were able to pick up a 42-17 win at Idaho. The Aggies are not a team to look past, as those losses have not been to weak sister opponents; two of the three are currently ranked. The Aggies hope to get improved play from quarterback Diondre Borel, who has just completed 41 of 75 passes for 490 yards.

# 1 Oklahoma Sooners (4-0) @ Baylor Bears (2-2)
Time: 12:30pm ET
Spread: Oklahoma –27
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Sooners are now America’s number one team. If that is a good thing or not, we’ll find out. Bob Stoopes and his crew will take the road on Saturday to travel to Waco Texas to battle the Baylor Bears. Oklahoma coming in at 4-0, with wins over Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Washington and TCU have scored 199 points and allowed just 52. Oklahoma’s defense has been one of the top statistically in the nation this season. That quarterback Sam Bradford has completed 83 of 115 is leading offense passes for 1293 yards and five touchdowns. His top receiver has been Manuel Johnson, who has caught 21 passes for 376 yards, and  four touchdowns. For Baylor, a 2-2 start has led Baylor supporters to positive thinking. The two losses for Baylor have been to teams within the Top 25, at one point or another. In week one Wake Forest defeated the Bears 41-13, then in week four Connecticut defeated Baylor 31-28. The Bears have scored 137 points, while allowing 95.

Kentucky Wildcats (4-0) @ # 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (5-0)
Time: 3:30pm ET
Spread: Alabama –16.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: This is a battle between two of the nation’s undefeated squads. The Kentucky Wildcats have been hot, getting off to a 4-0 start. Kentucky’s four wins have been against Louisville, Norfolk State, Middle Tennessee, and Western Kentucky. The slate will heat up in a big way on Saturday. Out of the eight remaining games left on the Wildcats schedule, four of them are against ranked opponents. Saturday will seemingly be the toughest of them all. Kentucky will make the trek to Nick Saban’s Alabama squad. The Crimson Tide have been the talk of the town early in the season. After their week one win over Clemson, the Tide have continued to roll. Wins over Tulane, Western Kentucky, and Arkansas set up a week five showdown with the Georgia Bulldogs. After getting off to a 31-0 lead, the Crimson Tide held on to upset Georgia, in Athens, 41-30. The first five possessions of the game for Alabama were scoring drives.

# 4 Missouri Tigers (4-0) @ Nebraska Cornhuskers (3-1)
Time: 9:00pm ET
Spread: Missouri –11
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Tigers will begin their Big 12 slate on Saturday. Many Tiger backers feel this could be the year for their Tigers to run the table and win a BCS title. Saturday will be one of many tough tests from within the conference. Despite not being ranked, Nebraska comes in with a solid 3-1 record. After Nebraska dates with Oklahoma State and Texas will surely test the Tigers. Missouri’s offense has been one of the best in the nation, scoring 215 points a game. Quarterback Chase Daniel has led that offense. Daniel has completed 101 of 133 passes for 1412 yards and 12 touchdowns. Nebraska had a chance to really make Saturday’s match-up a prime one, but fell short on Saturday; to Virginia Tech 35-30. The loss for the Cornhuskers was their first of the year. With wins over Western Michigan, San Jose State, and New Mexico State, the Cornhuskers can’t quite claim a big time win yet. Saturday will certainly be their opportunity. The Cornhuskers have scored 150 points, and allowed just 78.

# 5 Texas Longhorns (4-0) @ Colorado Buffaloes (3-1)
Time: 8:00pm ET
Spread: Texas –14.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: Another Big 12 team sliding into the Top 5 this week; the Texas Longhorns. Like Missouri, the Longhorns will take the road for their Big 12 opener. Their week six opponent, the Colorado Buffaloes have been no slouch to start the season. Like Nebraska, Colorado had a great opportunity to put two undefeated squads head to head, but were topped at Florida State 39-21. Heisman candidate Colt McCoy has led Texas early in the year. McCoy threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns in the 52-10 rout over Arkansas. Texas has scored 198 points, only allowing 43. For Colorado, after three straight home victories, the road was not kind on Saturday. Florida State racked up 378 yards, and 39 points in the 39-21 win. Colorado is averaging just under 27 points per game, while allowing 23.5.

# 6 Penn State Nittany Lions (5-0) @ Purdue Boilermakers (2-2)
Time: 12:00pm ET
Spread: Penn State –12.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Penn State Nittany Lions have started the season scary good. In five games Joe Paterno’s squad has scored 249 points, while allowing 64. Penn State is 4-0, and won their one game on the road this year. With wins over Coastal Carolina, Oregon State, Syracuse, Temple and Illinois- Penn State will take the road for their first Big Ten road game. Derrick Williams scored three touchdowns on Saturday against Illinois, with one on special teams, one on the ground, and one in the air. Purdue comes in 2-2 with losses to Oregon and Notre Dame, and wins over Northern Colorado and Central Michigan. The Boilermakers have scored an average of 30 points a game, and allowed 26.3.

# 7 Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-0) @ Kansas State Wildcats (3-1)
Time: 3:30pm ET
Spread: Texas Tech -7
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: If the Red Raiders are going to win a Big 12 title, games like Saturday are must wins. While Texas Tech moved all the way up to # 7 in the latest AP poll, their week six opponent is unranked, but a very scary unranked team. The Kansas State Wildcats come into the game 3-1, with wins over North Texas, Montana State, and Louisiana Lafayette. The Wildcats lone loss was 38-29 at Louisville. Quarterback Josh Freeman, who has thrown for 1,105 yards in four games, leads Kansas State. Texas Tech’s offense has been on the ball all season long. With wins over Eastern Washington, Nevada, Southern Methodist, and Massachusetts, the Red Raiders have scored 183 points, while yielding 64 on defense. Quarterback Graham Harrell has completed 120 of 186 passes for 1573 yards and 12 touchdowns.

# 23 Oregon Ducks (4-1) @ # 9 USC Trojans (2-1)
Time: 8:00pm ET
Spread: USC –16.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: Coming off an upset loss on the road at the hands of Oregon State, the USC Trojans face a top 25 squad in their second Pac Ten test. This time, the Oregon Ducks will fly into Los Angeles. The Ducks are 4-1 on the year, with wins over Washington, Utah State, Purdue and Washington State, while their lone loss was a 37-32 loss to Boise State. The Ducks have scored a 237 points in five games, while allowing 111. The Ducks are 2-1 at  home, while 2-0 on the road. Quarterback Justin Roper has completed 40 of 77 passes for 484 yards and two touchdowns. The Ducks have ran for 14 touchdowns from their top two running backs, in five games. For USC, after falling from the # 1 spot, the Trojans look to slowly climb back up the ladder, still with hopes of a BCS title game. USC, in Corvallis on Thursday lost the time of possession battle to the Beavers by nearly 10 minutes in the 27-21 loss.

# 12 Florida Gators (3-1) @ Arkansas Razorbacks (2-2)
Time: 12:30pm ET
Spread: Florida –24
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Gators are another squad coming off a disappointing week five. The Gators, at home were 31-30 losers at the hands of the Mississippi Rebels. Arkansas, after getting two close wins in their first two games have been beaten by a combined 101-24 total in their last two. On Saturday, Tim Tebow was stopped short of a fourth and one try with less than a minute to go. The other key on Saturday was when Mississippi block an extra point attempt to keep the game at 31-30 Ole Miss. Tebow on Saturday threw for 319 yards and a touchdown. For Arkansas, the Hogs are just looking for some relief. After struggling to wins over Western Illinois, and Louisiana Monroe, their last two games have been against Alabama and Texas. This week Florida comes to town, and next week the Razorbacks go to Auburn. Bobby Petrino may not have been real sure what he was getting into when he made his controversial move back to college football. The Razorbacks have given up 152 points in four games, while scoring 80. Casey Dick has completed 74 of 127 passes for 969 yards and five touchdowns, but his four interceptions has been a cause for concern for the Hogs.

# 13 Auburn Tigers (4-1) @ # 19 Vanderbilt Commodores (4-0)
Time: 6:00pm ET
Spread: Auburn – 4.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: In what could be the game of the week, these two SEC squads are looking to bolster their position in the always competitive league.  Auburn, who is averaging just 19.8 points per game, but allowing a mere 10.2 have beaten Louisiana Monroe, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, and Tennessee, and taken a 26-21 loss to LSU. Quarterback Chris Todd has struggled for the Tigers completing 75 of 130 passes for 815 yards, but just three touchdowns and four interceptions. The Tigers look to get better quarterback play, in their new spread offense. Vanderbilt has been the surprise of the conference, and much of the country in the early going, and hope to continue that on Saturday, at home. With wins over Miami(OH), South Carolina, Rice, and Mississippi, Saturday will be the Commodores biggest test yet. If Vanderbilt can sneak by the Tigers and October 18th battle at Georgia, and November 8th game with Florida will become that much more important. The dynamic quarterback Chris Nickson, who has thrown for three touchdowns, and ran for five in four games, leads Vanderbilt.

# 16 Kansas Jayhawks (3-1) @ Iowa State Cyclones (2-2)
Time: 12:30pm ET
Spread: Kansas – 13
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Kansas Jayhawks will start their Big 12 slate, and look to get their first road win of the 2008 season. The Jayhawks are 3-1 with wins over Florida International, Louisiana Tech and Sam Houston State have only been tested once and came away a 37-34 loser to South Florida. The Jayhawks got a week off last week, and got plenty of time to prepare for the Cyclones. Iowa State has scored 128 points, and allowed 96 points in their four games. In those four, the Cyclones have beaten South Dakota State, and Kent State, while dropping games to Iowa, and UNLV. The Cyclones top two running backs have yet to score a touchdown on the ground in 2008.

Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (2-3) @ # 20 Virginia Tech Hokies (4-1)
Time: 12:30pm ET
Spread: Virginia Tech – 28
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Hokies are back in the polls after losing their spot after a week one loss to East Carolina. Since then Virginia Tech seems to have put things back together and are poised for a ACC run. For Western Kentucky, a 2-3 start has been a rocky one so far. The Hilltoppers have made a little bit of a streak their season, as they have not won or lost two straight all season. The good news for Western Kentucky is they are coming off a loss. In week five the Hilltoppers were downed 41-3 at Kentucky. In the four weeks before that WKU lost to Indiana and Alabama, and knocked off Eastern Kentucky and Murray State. The Hilltoppers are one of four IA independents. The Hokies have not been an offensive powerhouse in their first five games, but 80% of the time, they have been victorious. A 24-7 win over Furman, a 20-17 win over Georgia Tech, a 20-17 win over North Carolina, and a 35-30 win at Nebraska has been the Hokies 2008 season. The Hokies do not have a current team ranked inside the top 25 left on their schedule.

Texas A+M Aggies (2-2) @ # 21 Oklahoma State Cowboys (4-0)
Time: 7:00pm ET
Spread: Oklahoma State – 24.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Cowboys are off to a fast start in Stillwater. A 4-0 start is great for Oklahoma State, but four of the last seven games against teams in the top 10 is not a good forte for the Cowboys. Before that brutal stretch starts the Cowboys will battle the 2-2 Texas A+M Aggies. A+M has beaten New Mexico and Army, but dropped games to Arkansas State and Miami (FL). The Aggies have scored 86 points, while allowing 98. Aggies quarterback Jerrod Johnson has completed 35 of 61 passes for 452 yards and seven touchdowns. For Oklahoma State, the Cowboys offense has been the story. Scoring 207 points, while allowing 87 has put them in good positions to win each and every game. The four wins, over Washington State, Houston, Missouri State and Troy have not been any closer than 19 points. The Cowboys offense is led by quarterback Zac Robinson(7 passing yards), and running back Kendall Hunter(8 rushing touchdowns).

Hawaii Warriors (1-3) @ # 22 Fresno State Bulldogs (3-1)
Time: 10:00pm ET
Spread: Fresno State – 22.5
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: The Bulldogs continue to talk about the “what ifs”, and the fact that they think they could be 4-0. The pundits are talking about the other side of “what ifs”, and who the Bulldogs could be 1-3. Their week six opponent will be the Hawaii Warriors. Hawaii, off to a slow 2008 season start has been outscored 138 to 70 on the season. The Warriors one win was in on September 6th, in a 36-17 route over Weber State. The Warriors are 0-2 on the road thus far this season. For Fresno State, after a 24-7 national television win over Rutgers, the Bulldogs played a prime time game at home against the Big Ten Wisconsin Badgers, and were downed 13-10. Fresno State stayed at home the next week and won a 55-54 overtime win over Toledo, in which the Bulldogs prevented a game winning two point conversion. And on Saturday, a back and forth affair to UCLA went to the Bulldogs in a 36-31 win. Fresno State has outscored opponents 125-105 thus far this season.

# 24 Connecticut Huskies (5-0) @ North Carolina Tar heels (3-1)
Time: 7:00pm ET
Spread: North Carolina – 7
Over/Under: N/A
Preview: If this was a basketball game, this would be a prime time battle between two national powers. While years ago, no one would have thought of these two as football powers, but the times have changed and both programs are heading the right direction. Both teams are coming off huge wins, both on the road. Connecticut, a 26-21 winner at Louisville, while the Tar heels went to Miami and came away with a 28-24 win at the U. Connecticut, the defending Big East Champion will take the road on Saturday. The Huskies are 2-0 on the road this year, scoring 36 points a game. North Carolina has scored 124 points while allowing 83. The Tar heels only loss was a 20-17 game against Virginia Tech.
