# 9 Brigham Young Cougars (6-0) @ TCU Horned Frogs (6-1)

Over/Under:
Preview: The Cougars come into this Mountain West tilt 6-0. With six wins by a combined average of 27 points per game the Cougars have just been tested once. Max Hall is marching towards Heisman contention each week, compiling over 1800 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. The Cougars do not face a ranked team until their last game of the year, so getting past TCU could be between them and a possible shot at a perfect regular season. Texas Christian University is 6-1 on the year and have only one loss, at the hands of the Sooners of Oklahoma. In their seven games this season TCU have put up 236 points, allowing 80. Five of the Horned Frogs six wins have come by 20 points or more. The lone game that did not was on Saturday when TCU edged Colorado State 13-7. Both teams are at the top of the conference; BYU 2-0, TCU 3-0.

Hawaii Warriors (3-3) @ # 15 Boise State Broncos (5-0)

Preview: The Warriors are coming off a 24-14 win over Louisiana Tech. That win moved Hawaii to 3-3 on the season, and 2-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. In the three Hawaii losses, they have given up an average of 40.3 points per game. In the three wins, the Rainbows are giving up 20 points per game. Hawaii has already faced two teams that were in the rankings as the time of playing them. Losing 56-10 at Hawaii, and knowing off Fresno State 32-29. Boise State has stared the season 5-0, and in a three way tie for the top spot in the WAC. The Broncos are coming off a 24-7 win over Southern Miss on Saturday. Boise State is allowing just 11 points per game thus far, through five games. On Saturday Kellen Moore, the Broncos quarterback threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns.

# 11 Missouri Tigers (5-1) @ # 1 Texas Longhorns (6-0)

Preview: The Missouri Tigers had it all set up for them going into Saturday night's game at home. Oklahoma State ruined not only a chance at a perfect record for the Tigers, but also a chance at the #1 national ranking. After leading the Cowboys 10-7 at halftime, the Tigers were outscored 21-13 in the second half, losing 28-23. Quarterback Chase Daniel hurt his Heisman Trophy chances significantly by throwing three interceptions, including one on the final drive, which sealed the deal for a Cowboys win. The Tigers have scored 290 points in six games this season. The Longhorns are the new #1 team in the nation and the new favorites to win the National Championship. After knocking off then #1 Oklahoma 45-35 on Saturday in Dallas, Texas will continue their march through the Big 12. On Saturday Colt McCoy threw for 277 yards and a touchdown. On the season McCoy has completed 131 of 165 passes for 1557 yards and 17 touchdowns. The Longhorns have outscored opponents 281-90 on the season. Missouri sits at 1-1 in the Big 12 North, while Texas is 2-0 and and leading the Big 12 South.
Mississippi Rebels (3-3) @ # 2 Alabama Crimson Tide (6-0)

Preview: The Mississippi Rebels are coming off a 31-24 overtime loss to South Carolina, at home. The game before that the Rebels pulled a huge upset knocking off Florida, in Gainesville. Which Rebels team will show up seems to be the mantra for this squad. The Rebels have scored 175 points, and allowed 148 on the year. The Rebels three wins have come over Memphis, Samford and Florida, while their three losses have been to Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and South Carolina. The Rebels Jevan Snead has thrown for over 1,200 yards thus far, and completed 9 touchdown passes. The Crimson Tide are coming off their bye week after narrowly escaping Kentucky in week six. The Crimson Tide have moved up the rankings quickly, starting as the # 24 team in the nation, and sky rocketing all the way up to the # 2 spot in the land. In Alabama’s six wins, they have scored 202 points, and allowed 81. The Crimson Tide currently leads the SEC West, with a 3-0 mark, ahead of LSU, 2-1.
Michigan Wolverines (2-4) # 3 Penn State Nittany Lions (7-0)

Preview: A couple years ago, and this could have been not only the Big Ten game of the week, but also the national game of the week. The times have changed, and the Wolverines have fallen. Michigan comes into Saturday’s tilt with # 3 Penn State with a 2-4 overall record. Not only is Michigan 2-4, they have losses at home to Utah, Illinois, and Toledo. The other loss for Michigan was against rival Notre Dame. The two lone wins for Michigan have come over Miami(OH), and Wisconsin. The Wolverines have been outscored in their six games 149-113. Michigan currently sits tied in third place in the Big Ten with a 1-1 record. The Nittany Lions have been a complete buzz saw to start the season. Winning seven straight games, with no win coming by less than 14 points, the Nittany Lions are in a prime position to compete for a national title. Penn State has scored an impressive 317 points in seven games. Running back Evan Royster has put up Heisman candidate numbers rushing 98 times for 719 yards and nine touchdowns. Penn State is currently tied with Michigan State and Ohio State at 3-0 in the Big Ten.
# 16 Kansas Jay Hawks (5-1) @ # 4 Oklahoma Sooners (5-1)

Preview: The Kansas Jay Hawks will look to move to 3-0 in the Big 12 on Saturday. With wins over Iowa State and Colorado, Kansas sits atop the Big 12 North. A win on Saturday would catapult the Jay Hawks and give them a decisive advantage in the conference. Todd Reesing has throw for 1900+ yards in six games thus far in 2008. He has also thrown for 15 passing touchdowns. The Jay Hawks have scored 206 points in six games. The Sooners are coming off a tough 45-35 loss that sent them from # 1 to # 4 in the Associated Press polls. Oklahoma, on Saturday allowed 22 second half points in the loss to Texas. The Sooners turned the ball over twice, giving the Longhorns good scoring chances, which they took advantage of. Quarterback Sam Bradford eclipsed the 2000+ passing mark on Saturday, and has thrown for 23 touchdowns in just six games. The Sooners feel they still have a shot at the national title game, but they must win out from here.
# 6 USC Trojans (4-1) @ Washington State Cougars (1-6)

Preview: The Trojans are making their climb. USC is hoping their loss to Oregon State was early enough for them to climb back up the BCS ladder and still get into the title game. USC has won two straight since the loss scoring a combined 72 points. On Saturday the defense blanked Arizona State 28-0, allowing just 229 total yards on defense. USC sits one game back of California, who leads the Pac Ten with a 2-0 record. The Washington State Cougars have struggled mightily to start 2008. The Cougars have allowed 316 points, and scored just 111. Washington State is coming off a 66-13 blasting at the hands of Oregon State. Other losses this season have been a 63-14 pasting to Oregon, and a 45-17 loss at Baylor. The Cougars are at least at home for this affair, a place they got their lone win; a 48-9 blasting of Portland State.
# 7 Texas Tech Red Raiders (6-0) @ Texas A+M Aggies (2-4)

Preview: The Red Raiders are winners of their first six 2008 games. In doing so, Texas Tech has scored 278 points, and yielded just 123 on defense. Texas Tech is 2-0 on the road with wins at Nevada and Kansas State. On Saturday Texas Tech was a 37-31 overtime win over Nebraska. The Red Raiders are in a dog fight for the top of the Big 12 South. Oklahoma State, Texas, and Texas Tech are all sitting at 2-0 in the conference. The Red Raiders hope to avoid an upset before taking on four straight ranked opponents. Texas A+M has started the season 2-4, with losses to Arkansas State, Miami (FL), Oklahoma State and Kansas State. The Aggies two wins have come over New Mexico and Army. The Aggies have been outscored 198-144 in their first six games. Texas A+M is 0-2 in the Big 12 South.
Baylor Bears (3-3) @ # 8 Oklahoma State Cowboys (6-0)

Preview: The Baylor Bears are sitting at the .500 mark thus far in 2008. With an upset win on Saturday the Bears could sneak into bowl contention this year. The Bears are coming off an impressive 38-10 win at home over Iowa State. In that game quarterback Robert Griffin has thrown for over 1,110 yards and nine touchdowns. The Bears three wins have come over Northwestern State, Washington State and Iowa State. The three losses have come to teams that are or were once in the Top 25. Wake Forest knocked Baylor off 41-13 in week one. The Bears fell to Uconn 31-28, and then to Oklahoma 49-17. Oklahoma State is coming off a monstrous win on the road in Columbia, Missouri. Oklahoma State knocked off Missouri 28-23. Quarterback Zac Robinson has thrown for 1250 yards and completed 12 touchdown passes. In six games the Cowboys have scored 291 points and allowed 138. The Cowboys are currently tied with Texas and Texas Tech atop the Big 12 South; all with 2-0 records.
# 22 Vanderbilt Commodores (5-1) @ # 10 Georgia Bulldogs (5-1)

Preview: The Commodores were not able to handle the trap road games at Mississippi State on Saturday. Leading 7-3 at halftime, Vanderbilt was outscored 14-7 in the second half, and defeated 17-14. The loss was the first of the year for the Commodores. In the game, Vanderbilt only picked up 107 yards of total offense. The Commodores are now tied atop the SEC East with Florida, at 3-1. Vanderbilt is 2-1 overall on the road this season. For Georgia, the Bulldogs are coming off a bye week steaming over their 41-30 loss at the hands of Alabama, they were able to hold on to knock off Tennessee 26-14. T The Bulldogs have scored 198 points, and allowed 110 on the year. Georgia is 2-1 in the SEC East, sitting a half game behind both Florida and Vanderbilt. The winner of this game will be sitting pretty atop the East.
# 12 Ohio State Buckeyes (6-1) @ # 20 Michigan State Spartans (6-1)

Preview: The Buckeyes, winners of four straight have been a little more fiery on offense with the emergence of freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor. The Buckeyes have knocked off Troy, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Purdue since their 28-3 loss at the hands of USC. The Buckeyes have scored 170 points, and allowed 100 on the season. Ohio State currently sits atop the Big Ten with a 3-0 mark. For Michigan State, the Spartans have won six straight games after a week one loss to California. The Spartans on Saturday handed Northwestern their first loss of the season. In that game, Michigan State allowed 459 yards of offense to the Wildcats, but were able to force three Wildcat turnovers. Javon Ringer carried the ball 35 times in the game for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The Spartans are also tied in first place atop the Big Ten, with both Ohio State and Penn State. The winner of this game will be one step closer to a Rose Bowl appearance.
# 13 LSU Tigers (4-1) @ South Carolina Gamecocks (5-2)

Preview: The LSU Tigers have dropped all the way down to # 13 in the AP Polls. Their shot at back to back national titles come have went down the drain in a 30 point drubbing at the hands of the Florida Gators. Life does not get any easier for the Tigers, as they head to South Carolina to take on Coach Spurrier and the Gamecocks. LSU’s problem has been on the defensive end, allowing 112 points in five games thus far. LSU is a game behind Alabama in the SEC West with a 2-1 record. South Carolina is emerging within the SEC. After starting the year 1-2, the Gamecocks have won four straight games, and are a win away from becoming bowl eligible. With wins over Wofford, UAB, Mississippi and Kentucky; South Carolina sits at 2-2 in the SEC East, a game behind Florida and Vanderbilt, and ½ game behind Georgia. The Gamecocks feel they still have a shot at the conference title, but beating LSU is a must. After LSU, South Carolina will take on Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, and Clemson.
Colorado State Rams (3-3) @ # 14 Utah Utes (7-0)

Preview: The Colorado State Rams are at the breaking point in the season. With a .500 record through six games, they are looking for a game to put them over the top. A win at Utah on Saturday would do just that. So far the Rams have beaten Sacramento State, Houston, and UNLV, and falling to Colorado, California and TCU. Colorado State is 1-1 and in the middle of the pack in the up and coming Mountain West Conference. Utah, TCU, and BYU sit atop the conference with unbeaten marks. The Utah Utes have won seven straight games to start the season. In the latest AP poll, the Utes were marked at the # 14 position. Many people inside and outside of Provo feel the Utes are under rated and should have a shot at the BCS national title. The only way for Utah to prove that would be win games. It starts with Saturday’s home game. In Utah’s seven wins they have outscored opponents 263-133. On Saturday Utah was a 40-7 winner over conference foe Wyoming. Utah’s closest game came in week six, in which the Utes escaped Oregon State 31-28.
# 17 Virginia Tech Hokies (5-1) @ Boston College Eagles (4-1)

Preview: The Hokies have won five straight games, following a week one loss to East Carolina 27-22. In those five games the Hokies have not blown out opponents, but quietly went with their business. The five wins are by an average of just 8.2. Those wins have come over Furman, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Nebraska, and Western Kentucky. The Hokies currently lead the ACC Coastal Division with a 2-0 mark. For Boston College, the Eagles are winners of three straight games, including a 38-31 win on the road over North Carolina State on Saturday. The Eagles have beat teams badly in their four wins, outscoring opponents 151-57. The Eagles defense has allowed just 11.4 points per game this season. Boston College only loss came on September 6th to Georgia Tech, 19-16. The Eagles are tied in second place with Florida State and Maryland at 1-1, behind only Wake Forest in the ACC Atlantic.
# 18 North Carolina Tarheels (5-1) @ Virginia Cavaliers (3-3)

Preview: The North Carolina Tarheels are a three point defeat away from a perfect 6-0 season. In week three North Carolina fell 20-17 to Virginia Tech. In the five wins; UNC has knocked off McNeese State, Rutgers, Miami (FL), Connecticut and Notre Dame. The Tarheels have outscored opponents 191-119 on the season. North Carolina is 2-0 on the road. At 1-1, the Tarheels are tied in second place in the ACC Coastal conference. The Virginia Cavaliers are 3-3 on the season, with the three losses being blowout losses. In week one the Cavaliers were drubbed 52-7 by USC. Weeks three and four were 45-10, and 31-3 losses to Connecticut and Duke. The three wins for Virginia have been over Richmond, Maryland and East Carolina. Virginia is 1-1 as well within the ACC Coastal.
Syracuse Orange (1-5) @ # 19 South Florida Bulls (5-1)

Preview: The Syracuse Orange have been nothing short of a train wreck to start the 2008 season. Winners of just one game in six tries the Orange are being outscored by an average of 19.6 in their five losses. With a week one loss at Northwestern, followed by a home loss to Akron things did not start pretty. A 55-13 loss to Penn State dropped Syracuse to 0-3. The Orange lone win this season came on September 20th, when they defeated Northeastern 30-21. Quarterback Cameron Dantley has completed just 73 of 126 passes on the year, and thrown for three interceptions. The Bulls come into the game 5-1, but coming off a week six loss to Pittsburgh. During the bye week South Florida surely cleaned up their rush defense. After allowing just 58.4 rushing yards per game, the Bulls allowed the Pittsburgh running back to run for 142 yards. The Bulls are 0-1 to start the Big East season, while Syracuse is 0-2.
# 21 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-1) @ Maryland Terrapins (4-2)

Preview: The Wake Forest Demon Deacons have started the season 4-1; with their lone loss coming on September 27th to Navy. The Demon Deacons knocked off Clemson on Thursday night to essentially seal the deal on the Tigers firing their head coach Tommy Bowden. Wake Forest has scored just 112 points in five games, but their defense has been solid; allowing just 75 points. Wake Forest leads the ACC Atlantic Division with a 2-0 mark, leading Florida State, Boston College and Maryland; all 1-1. The Maryland Terrapins are coming off an embarrassing 31-0 loss at Virginia on Saturday. After losing on the road to Middle Tennessee State earlier in the year, Maryland appeared to be heading back in the right direction. With wins over California, Eastern Michigan and Clemson, Maryland scored 106 points in those three games. Maryland is tied in second place in the ACC Atlantic with a 1-1 mark.
# 23 Pittsburgh Panthers (4-1) @ Navy Midshipmen (4-2)

Preview: The Pittsburgh Panthers have righted the ship, and won four straight games after losing a season opening game to Bowling Green. With wins over Buffalo, Iowa, Syracuse and South Florida the Panthers have taken over the top of the Big East standings. With a 2-0 mark, the Panthers are tied with West Virginia for the conference lead. Pittsburgh will take on West Virginia on November 28th at home, in what could be a Big East title game. Pittsburgh will go out of conference on Saturday to take on Navy. The Midshipmen have been hot and cold this season. After opening season win over Towson, Navy dropped two straight games, at Ball State, and at Duke. Navy has since won three straight games; with wins over Rutgers, Wake Forest and Air Force. Navy has scored 175 points, while allowing 154 on the year. Pittsburgh will be the last team on Navy’s schedule that is currently in the Associated Press Top 25. The Midshipmen appear to be heading to a bowl game this December, but with a win over Pittsburgh their bowl status could be upgraded.
# 25 California Bears (4-1) @ Arizona Wildcats (4-2)

Preview: When you think of the Pac Ten leader, you don’t typically think about the California Bears. Five games into the season, and two Pac Ten games down the Bears lead the Pac Ten with a 2-0 mark. Oregon and Stanford sit at 3-1, USC, Oregon State and Arizona are 2-1; so the Bears sit in the drivers seat. There is a lot of football left, but as the old adage says “the Bears control their own destiny” inside the Pac Ten conference. After leaving Arizona, the Bears host UCLA and Oregon, before traveling to USC and Oregon State. The Bears only loss this season came on September 13th at Maryland, 35-27. The Arizona Wildcats could have set this game up as a major Pac Ten battle had they not laid an egg on Saturday. The Wildcats went on the road and dropped a 24-23 game at Stanford. The loss for Arizona was their second of the season; the other coming in a 36-28 loss to New Mexico. Arizona is 3-0 at home this season.
