Week 6 college football betting is here! Bankroll Sports is back with more NCAA football picks for Week 6 of the year, but before we do that, we need to take a look at the important trends and history that the teams that are facing against each other this week.

Thursday, October 7th: Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Kansas State Wildcats
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Huskers are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 road games
KSU is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 overall
The Cornhuskers are just 3-7 ATS in their L/10 against the Wildcats

Series History
Though we already know that Nebraska has only covered three of the L/10 against the Wildcats, that doesn’t mean that Big Red hasn’t dominated this series. They have a 73-31 victory to their credit as 7.5 point underdogs in 2007, and they have outscored KSU by an average of over 20 points per game in five wins since 2005. ‘Over’ bettors are a whopping 10-2 in the L/12 meetings in this series.

Friday, October 8th: Connecticut Huskies @ Rutgers Scarlet Knights
NCAA Football Trends of Note
UConn is 15-4 ATS in its L/19 overall
The Huskies are 7-2 ATS in their L/9 road games
The road team is 5-2-1 ATS in the L/8 meetings in this series

Series History
These two teams have only met eight times in their history, and the Scarlet Knights have really had no luck. UConn was 6-0-1 ATS in the first seven clashes before last year when Rutgers came up with its second win in Connecticut in team history. The underdog has also covered four of the L/5. Five of the L/7 have gone ‘over’ the ‘total’.

Friday, October 8th: Oklahoma State Cowboys @ Louisiana Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Okie State is 6-1-1 ATS in its L/8 games played in the month of October
The Cajuns are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 in October
Louisiana Lafayette is 9-4 ATS in its L/13 against the Big XII

Series History
These two teams haven’t met since 2003, and it’s probably a good thing for the Cajuns. The Pokes posted a 56-3 beat down of ULL in that meeting in ’03 in Stillwater. Oklahoma State actually visited Cajun Field in 1997 and 1986, coming away with victories in both games. The Ragin’ Cajuns have never won a game in this series.

Saturday, October 9th: Indiana Hoosiers @ Ohio State Buckeyes
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The road team is 7-2 ATS in the L/9 meetings of these teams
Ohio State is 43-19 ATS in its L/62 games overall
The Buckeyes are 9-2 ATS in their L/11 against teams with a winning record

Series History
Indiana just doesn’t know what it’s like to beat the Buckeyes of late. You have to go way back to find the last Indiana victory. Ohio State has covered five straight and seven out of eight in this series, including issuing a 33-14 beat down last season in Bloomington. The Bucks have scored at least 30 in seven straight and at least 27 the L/10 meetings. In the L/10, Indiana hasn’t scored more than 17 points against OSU.

Saturday, October 9th: Illinois Fighting Illini @ Penn State Nittany Lions
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Illini are 6-0 ATS in their L/6 as an underdog
Illinois is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 overall
The Nittany Lions are 18-7-2 ATS in their L/27 in October

Series History
The Illini know what it takes to get rid of Penn State, but here in Happy Valley has been a totally different thing. Illinois’ last win in this series was back in 2007 in Champaign. Since then, the Nittany Lions have won both tussles, including last year’s 35-17 victory on the road as 7.5 point favorites. Six of the L/8 clashes of these Big Ten rivals has eclipsed the ‘total’.

Saturday, October 9th: Tennessee Volunteers @ Georgia Bulldogs
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Vols have covered four straight in this series
Georgia is 2-8 ATS in its L/10 against teams with losing records
The Dawgs are 4-11 ATS in their L/15 home games

Series History
The home team has won three straight in this series and has done so by double digits in all three clashes. This annual early October tussle generally features low scoring games, as the losing team has only scored more than 19 points once since 2001. The winner generally gets an upper hand in the SEC East title race, though this season, these teams come into this one at a combined 0-5 in conference play.

Saturday, October 9th: Alabama Crimson Tide @ South Carolina Gamecocks
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Tide are 11-5 ATS in their L/16 in the SEC
Alabama is 11-5 ATS in its L/16 road games against teams with winning home records
The Gamecocks are 4-1-1 ATS in their L/6 following a bye week

Series History
These teams have only met five times since they joined the SEC, and the meetings have been fairly evenly matched. Both teams have one win on enemy soil, while Alabama holds a 3-2 edge both SU and ATS overall. Two of the L/3 meetings have been played into just the 20s in total points scored, while the losing team has only scored more than 17 points once since 2000.

Saturday, October 9th: Arkansas Razorbacks @ Texas A&M Aggies
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Hogs are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 games in October
Arkansas is 2-6 ATS in its L/8 neutral site games
The Razorbacks are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 against Big XII opposition

Series History
These two teams renewed their old SWAC rivalry last year with the Razorbacks pounding the Aggies 47-19 on a neutral field. This year will be no exception playing at Dallas Cowboys Stadium. The Hogs have covered five straight dating back to 1988, but the most recent meeting since the ’09 encounter was in 1991.

Saturday, October 9th: Michigan State Spartans @ Michigan Wolverines
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Spartans haven’t covered a spread on the road since October 10th, 2009
Michigan is 2-8 ATS in its L/10 played in October
Big Blue is just 5-16 ATS in its L/21 played in the Big Ten

Series History
These two teams have a history of playing very, very close games, as three of the L/6 have gone to overtime. The final margin of victory between these two has been no more than 18 points since 2002 when the Wolverines were absolutely dominant, and even then, only one of the L/10 has been separated by more than two tuddies. Still, even with close margins of victory, the favorites have covered four straight in this series, including last year’s 26-20 OT victory for Sparty at home.

Saturday, October 9th: Virginia Cavaliers @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Cavs are 7-3 ATS in their L/10 games played in October
Georgia Tech is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 played in the ACC
The favorite is 6-2 ATS in the L/8 in this series

Series History
The home team might be 9-3 ATS in the L/12 in this series, but the hosts have failed to either cover or win two straight. Last year’s 34-9 beat down for the Jackets only avenged the previous year’s 24-17 loss at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Five of the L/6 have stayed ‘under’ the ‘total’ when these two teams have met, as the 34 points scored by the Ramblin’ Wreck last year was the highest point total for a team in a game in this series since 2001.

Saturday, October 9th: Pittsburgh Panthers @ Notre Dame Fighting Irish
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Pitt is 13-5 ATS in its L/18 played on grass
The Irish are just 5-17 ATS in their L/22 played on grass
Notre Dame has covered five of the L/7 and seven of the L/10 in this series

Series History
That doesn’t mean that Notre Dame has really dominated the SU proceedings, though. Sure, back in the ’90s when the Irish were a dominating force, they were winning games in this series by 60-6 score lines like they did in 1996. However, since 1999, U-Pitt has definitely show a pulse, losing by more than 17 points just once in this series and pulling off three victories, two of which came in South Bend. The Irish have won a game against the Panthers in front of the watchful eyes of Touchdown Jesus since 2000.

Saturday, October 9th: Clemson Tigers @ North Carolina Tar Heels
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Tigers are 2-6 ATS in their L/8 overall
North Carolina is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 overall
The favorite is 7-3 ATS in the L/10 in this series

Series History
Clemson absolutely pummeled the Tar Heels 52-7 in Death Valley the last time that these two teams got in on in 2006, but they haven’t met in Chapel Hill since 2002. That meeting was a 42-12 romp for the Tigers as well. The last time that UNC won a game in this series was a 38-3 decision in 2001, and the last ‘W’ on Tobacco Road came in 1998. The road team had won three straight from 2000 to 2002 before the Tigers took over for their L/2 home wins.

Saturday, October 9th: Oregon State Beavers @ Arizona Wildcats
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Oregon State is 13-3 ATS in its L/16 road games
Arizona is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 as a favorite
The Wildcats are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 home games

Series History
Last season, the Wildcats nearly made it to the Rose Bowl courtesy of a 37-32 win at Reser Stadium. However, before that, the Beavs had blown them apart to the tune of a 3-0 SU and ATS mark from 2006 to 2008. Oregon State is 8-2 ATS in the L/10 in this series, while the favorite has nailed down seven of the ten ATS decision in that stretch. Arizona only has won two games SU in this series since 2000 and hasn’t won a game at home in that run.

Saturday, October 9th: Colorado Buffaloes @ Missouri Tigers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Buffs are 8-3 ATS in their L/11 against teams with a winning record
Colorado is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 played in the Big 12
Mizzou is just 3-11 ATS in its L/14 games played in Columbia

Series History
The Tigers have won four straight both SU and ATS in this series dating back to ’06, but it wasn’t always that way. Colorado covered four straight and went 5-0-1 ATS in six games before that dating back to 2000. Thanks to the fact that the ‘Zou has averaged scoring 44.3 PPG in the L/4, four of the L/5 games have gone ‘over’ the ‘total’ between these Big XII rivals

Saturday, October 9th: Utah Utes @ Iowa State Cyclones
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Utes are 5-0-1 ATS in their L/6 games as favorites
Iowa State has covered four straight home games
The Cyclones are 4-1 ATS in their L/5 games played outside of the B12

Series History
First Meeting

Saturday, October 9th: Auburn Tigers @ Kentucky Wildcats
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Auburn is 2-8 ATS in its L/10 played away from Jordan Hare Stadium
The Tigers are 3-7 ATS in their L/10 played in October
Kentucky is 6-13-1 ATS in its L/20 home games

Series History
There have won been seven meetings between these teams since 1988, and all of them belonged to the Tigers before last season’s surprising 21-14 upset for UK in Auburn. The Cats have now covered two straight, but failed to cover four in row prior to that point. Last year’s ‘under’ clash marked the first ‘under’ between these SEC foes since the 1989 24-12 result in favorite of the Tigers.

Saturday, October 9th: LSU Tigers @ Florida Gators
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Tigers are just 2-6 ATS in their L/8 played on grass
Florida is 23-7 ATS in its L/30 against teams with a winning record
The Gators are 19-8 ATS in their L/27 overall

Series History
It’s certainly great to be a Florida Gator in this series. The blue and orange have covered five straight in this series dating back to 2004, but it was that 2004 meeting that was most memorable for the Bayou Bengals. That marked the last time that they successfully came into the Swamp and took care of Florida. The Gators have won three of the L/4 in this series, but the home team had won four straight before UF’s 13-3 last year at night in the Bayou. The road team is 7-2 ATS in the L/9. The ‘under’ has cashed in 11 of the L/14.

Saturday, October 9th: Florida State Seminoles @ Miami Hurricanes
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Noles are just 2-6 ATS in their L/8 games following an ATS victory
Miami is 3-13 ATS in its L/16 home games against teams with winning road records
The Canes are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 played in October

Series History
For whatever reason, the road team has suddenly started to dominate this series. Four straight ‘W’s have come from road teams, and pups have covered nine straight and ten out of 11. The Canes marched into Tallahassee and won 38-34 last year on Labor Day night, but prior to that, the Noles won 41-39 and 13-10 in Miami. This series has a history of producing close games, as each of the L/9 have been decided by eight points or less.

Saturday, October 9th: USC Trojans @ Stanford Cardinal
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Trojans are 1-8 ATS in their L/9 played on grass
USC is 3-11 ATS in its L/14 played in the Pac-10
Stanford is 12-3 ATS in its L/15 home games

Series History
The Cardinal rolled into LA last year and laid a whopping 55-21 smack down on the Trojans. However, no upset was finer than the 2007 remarkable win that changed the Stanford program forever. The 24-23 upset as 39 point favorites stunned the world. The Trees have now covered five straight in this series and have even won twice outright, something that was never heard of from the early 2000s until the late 2000s.

Week 4 of the NFL season is right around the corner! The handicapping experts of Bankroll Sports have key releases for you this weekend. Props and free picks will be available to you on our sports blog as well. However, to kick off this NFL betting week, we’re going to take a look at the most important NFL trends and matchup histories for the Week 4 NFL matchups.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 ET: Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
NFL Trends of Note
The Packers are just 9-2-1 ATS in their L/12 overall
Detroit is 1-6-1 ATS in its L/8 in division
The Lions are 2-6-2 ATS in their L/10 roadies

Series History
Green Bay has simply dominated this series, winning every game dating back to the first clash in 2005, a stretch of nine straight overall. In that run, Detroit has only covered two spreads, with the most recent cover coming at Lambeau Field in December 2008. The Pack have averaged 35.0 PPG over their L/6 with Detroit and haven’t scored less than 26 points in a game in that stretch.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
NFL Trends of Note
Carolina is 7-1 ATS in its L/8 against teams with a winning record
The Saints are 2-7 ATS in their L/9 as favorites
New Orleans is 2-6 ATS in its L/8 played on field turf

Series History
Carolina has actually won all but two of the L/9 meetings dating back to 2005. Last season’s was a Panthers ATS sweep, as there was no issue knocking off either NFL spread over the course of the year. Carolina has four straight ATS under its belt against the Saints and is 7-2 ATS over the L/9 ATS as well as SU. The L/2 meetings went ‘under’ the ‘total’, while five of the L/6 have failed to reach the number.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: Denver Broncos @ Tennessee Titans
NFL Trends of Note
Denver has covered three straight against the Titans overall
Tennessee is 2-10 ATS in its L/12 years in Week 4
The Titans are 10-4 ATS in their L/14 against teams with losing records

Series History
As we’ve already said, it’s been awhile since Tennessee has come up with a ‘W’ in this series. You have to go back to 1995 to find the last regular season triumph. However, Denver hasn’t visited the Music City since 2004. It walked out a winner that day to the tune of 37-16. The Broncos have at least 34 on the board in each of their L/3 meetings with Tennessee, while the Titans have scored 20, 10, and 16 respectively in those three duels.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
NFL Trends of Note
The Bengals are 1-13 ATS in their L/14 years in Week 4
Cincinnati is 3-8 ATS in its L/11 overall
The Browns are 8-1 ATS in their L/9 games played in October

Series History
These two teams simply don’t like each other a whole bunch. The Bengals might have won both games last year SU, but the Browns won the ATS war in each clash. The underdog has covered six straight overall. Four of the L/5 have stayed ‘under’ the number, while the ‘under’ is 8-3 in the L/11 meetings in the Dawg Pound. The Browns haven’t won a game here against Cincinnati since 2007 in that wild 51-45 game in which QB Derek Anderson threw five TD passes and RB Jamal Lewis rushed for 216 yards.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: San Francisco 49ers @ Atlanta Falcons
NFL Trends of Note
The Niners are 1-7-1 ATS in their L/9 played in October
San Fran is 9-3-2 ATS in its L/14 against teams with a winning record
Atlanta is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 home games

Series History
Last year, Atlanta marched into AT&T Park and absolutely crippled the 49ers 45-10 as short underdogs. All of a sudden, San Fran badly needs to make amends for that. However, the Niners haven’t won a game in this series since these two teams were in the NFC West together, a stretch of three straight dating back to 2001. San Francisco also hasn’t scored more than 19 points in a game in this series since then. The Falcons are 5-3 ATS over the L/8 meetings.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: Seattle Seahawks @ St. Louis Rams
NFL Trends of Note
Seattle is 1-9 ATS in its L/10 on the road
St. Louis is 7-22 ATS in its L/29 against the NFC West
The Rams are 7-17 ATS in their L/24 against teams with a winning record

Series History
It’s been Seattle, Seattle, and more Seattle since 2005 in this series, as the Seahawks haven’t lost a game to the Rams in that stretch. Several of these games were absolute beat downs as well, as five of the L/9 have been decided by at least ten points. The Seahawks have covered six straight in this series and eight out of ten overall. Seattle has put at least 23 on the board in all ten clashes.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: Baltimore Ravens @ Pittsburgh Steelers
NFL Trends of Note
The Ravens are 7-2-1 ATS in their L/10 as underdogs of a field goal or less
Baltimore is 22-10-1 ATS in its L/33 played on grass
The Steelers are 35-17-2 ATS in their L/54 games played in October

Series History
Even though you’d tend to believe that both of these teams are prone to ‘under’ games, it has been the ‘over’ that has cashed quite a bit. In fact, ‘over’ bettors are a whopping 6-1-1 in the L/8 meetings of these arch rivals. The home team has won six of the L/7, but Baltimore has been the one losing host and is just 2-5 in those seven. The Steelers are 3-0-1 ATS over their L/4 clashes, including already nearly winning one game with QB Dennis Dixon under center last year in Baltimore.

Sunday, October 3rd, 1:00 PM ET: New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills
NFL Trends of Note
The Jets are 2-10 ATS in their L/12 played in October
New York is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 against the AFC
Buffalo is 3-11 ATS in its L/14 home games

Series History
The underdog is a whopping 20-8 ATS over the L/28 meetings of these two AFC East rivals. An eight game winning streak for the pup ATS in this series came to a close last December when the Jets walked out of Ralph Wilson Stadium with a 19-13 win. The road team has won six of the L/8, with each team winning one road game. Both meetings last year stayed well ‘under’ the ‘total’, and there has only been one ‘over’ since 2006 (4-1-1).

Sunday, October 3rd, 4:05 PM ET: Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
NFL Trends of Note
The Colts are 10-2 ATS in their L/12 played in October
Jacksonville is 7-25 ATS in its L/32 played on grass
The Jags are 4-14 ATS in their L/18 played at home

Series History
Indianapolis has always had some problems with the Jags, but over the L/5 years, this series has been cut fairly down the middle. The team split the SU and ATS proceedings in each of the L/4 years even though the Colts have only lost twice in that stretch. The Colts haven’t lost in Jacksonville since December 2006, including last year’s 35-31 victory, which marked the third straight trip here with at least 29 points scored.

Sunday, October 3rd, 4:05 PM ET: Houston Texans @ Oakland Raiders
NFL Trends of Note
Houston is 7-1 ATS in its L/8 years in Week 4
The Texans are 4-1 ATS in five meetings against the Raiders
Oakland is just 17-39-1 ATS in its L/57 home games

Series History
Last year, the Texans trounced the Raiders 29-6 at home to dominate the nine point spread. It was the first time in which a favorite even won a game SU in this series, let alone ATS, and if you would like, you can even include the one preseason matchup of these teams in there as well from 2005. Historically, this series is a very low scoring one, as no game has featured more than 47 points, while the L/2 have easily stayed ‘under’ the number.

Sunday, October 3rd, 4:15 PM ET: Arizona Cardinals @ San Diego Chargers
NFL Trends of Note
The Cards have won seven straight ATS in October
Arizona is 10-2 ATS in its L/12 as an underdog
The Bolts have covered five straight following an ATS defeat

Series History
There aren’t many regular season meetings between these two teams since the start of the 2000s in spite of the fact that it feels like they meet every year in the preseason. San Diego won 27-20 on New Year’s Eve 2006, but the Cards covered the 14 point NFL odds that day. In 2002, the Bolts won 23-15 in Tucson, while in 2001, Arizona trumped the Chargers here at Qualcomm Stadium 20-17 in a very similar looking game to the one that will be played on Sunday.

Sunday, October 3rd, 4:15 PM ET: Washington Redskins @ Philadelphia Eagles
NFL Trends of Note
The Skins are 4-1-3 ATS in their L/8 played on grass
Washington is 4-10-1 ATS in its L/15 played in October
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their L/5 in October

Series History
For whatever reason, Washington has seemed to have the Eagles’ number in spite of the fact that it has largely stunk in that stretch. The Eagles did win both games last year but only went 1-1 ATS with the ‘Skins covering here in the City of Brotherly Love. In fact, the last time that Philly covered a home game against Washington was back in 2006, a 27-3 victory. Since that point, the Redskins are 2-1 SU and 3-0 ATS.

Sunday, October 3rd, 8:20 PM ET: Chicago Bears @ New York Giants
NFL Trends of Note
Chicago is 3-8 ATS in its L/11 road games
New York is 1-8 ATS in its L/9 against teams with a winning road record
The road team is 8-0 both SU and ATS in this series dating back to 1992

Series History
And if that isn’t a golden trend for Bears bettors, we don’t know what is! Chicago hasn’t lost a game in the Meadowlands since the 1980s and has won all of its meetings in the 1990s and 2000s by at least seven points. All four duels in the 1990s played past the ‘total’, but since that point, ‘under’ bettors are 3-2 and none of the three ‘unders’ got anywhere near the ‘total’.

Monday, September 27th, 8:30 PM ET: New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins
NFL Trends of Note
New England is just 2-6 ATS in its L/8 against the AFC East
The Dolphins are 8-2 ATS in their L/10 in division
Miami is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 played in October

Series History
Miami beat the Pats at home last year 22-21 for its fourth cover in the L/5 games in this series. Big time spreads are nothing new in this rivalry either, as the Dolphins have been double digit dogs four times just since 2007, including being a 22 point dog in Gillette Stadium in ’07. Both clashes last year stayed ‘under’ the ‘total’, which bucked the trend of three out of four ‘overs’ over the previous two years.

Week 5 college football betting is here! Bankroll Sports is back with more NCAA football picks for Week 5 of the year, but before we do that, we need to take a look at the important trends and history that the teams that are facing against each other this week.

Thursday, September 30th: Texas A&M Aggies @ Oklahoma State Cowboys
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Aggies are 17-35-1 ATS in their L/53 following an SU win
Okie State is 11-4 ATS in its L/15 as a home favorite
The Pokes are 3-8-1 ATS in their L/12 against teams with winning records

Series History
Okie State has covered and won two straight in this series, but it hadn’t won a game since that point dating back to 2003. This is traditionally a higher scoring series to say the least, as there hasn’t even been a ‘total’ posted the 40s since 2002. Five of the L/6 have gone ‘over’ the number, with the winning team scoring at least 34 in six of the L/7.

Friday, October 1st: BYU Cougars @ Utah State Aggies
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Cougs are 1-8 ATS in their L/9 played in October
BYU is 2-7 ATS in its L/9 vs. the WAC
Utah State is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 against the MWC

Series History
These Beehive State rivals meet all the time and have clashed over each of the L/2 seasons. BYU has won both games, taking a 35-17 decision in 2009 and a 34-14 one in 2008. However, in both instances, the Aggies have turned out on the right side of the NCAA football betting lines. The L/3 meetings have gone ‘under’ the ‘total’ thanks to the fact that Utah State hasn’t scored more than 17 in a game in that stretch.

Saturday, October 2nd: Ohio State Buckeyes @ Illinois Fighting Illini
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Buckeyes are 9-1 ATS in their L/10 against teams with winning records
OSU is 21-5 ATS in its L/26 road games
Illinois is 2-8 ATS in its L/10 in Champaign

Series History
Upsets have happened in this series in big ways. The Illini won in the ‘Shoe in 2007, 2001, and 1999. Ironically, a home team has only won twice in this decade. The Bucks have covered two straight, winning 30-0 last year and 30-20 in 2008. This is typically a lower scoring series as well, as the L/4 clashes have all had posted ‘totals’ in the 40s. Though two of the four didn’t reach the number, none of the four reached 50 points. In fact, that barrier hasn’t been reached when these two have hooked up since 2001.

Saturday, October 2nd: Miami Hurricanes @ Clemson Tigers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Clemson is 8-3 ATS in its L/11 conference games.
The Tigers are 10-1 ATS in their L/11 as pups of less than ten points
Miami is 12-25-1 ATS in its L/38 games as a favorite

Series History
These two teams don’t have an extensive history with one another, but all three meetings have been quite exciting. All three went into overtime and the road team captured all three outings. The Tigers are 3-0 ATS though, as they have been the underdog in all three games. The most recent meeting came last year in Miami, as the Canes dropped 40-37.

Saturday, October 2nd: Virginia Tech Hokies @ NC State Wolfpack
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Hokies are 1-7 ATS in their L/8 played in October
V-Tech is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 overall
Virginia Tech is 23-9 ATS in its L/32 road games

Series History
The Wolfpack only have one win in this series since 1991, that coming in Blacksburg in 2004. The Hokies have beaten the NCAA spreads by the narrowest of margins in the L/2 meetings, winning 38-10 last year at Lane Stadium and 20-16 in 2005 on Tobacco Road. The winner of this game will have made a great case to hop into the Top 25, especially if the winner is NCSU, who will jump to 5-0.

Saturday, October 2nd: Navy Midshipmen @ Air Force Falcons
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Navy is 13-3 ATS in its L/16 against the MWC
Air Force is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 on grass
The Falcons are 12-5 ATS in their L/17 at home

Series History
These two military academies always play a fantastic game, especially if you’re a fan of the triple option. Navy has won seven straight against Air Force both SU and ATS since 2003. The underdog is 8-3 ATS over the L/11, while Navy is 10-1 ATS over the L/11. Last year, the two hooked up in OT, with the Middies capturing a 16-13 decision in the extra frame.

Saturday, October 2nd: Tennessee Volunteers @ LSU Tigers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Vols have covered seven straight on the road as pups of double digits
Tennessee is 1-4 ATS in its L/5 overall
LSU is 8-17-1 ATS in its L/26 against SEC opponents

Series History
These two SEC powers haven’t met on the gridiron since 2007. That meeting resulted in a 21-14 win in the Bayou for the Tigers, who have won two straight. Typically, this is a relatively evenly matched affair. Tennessee holds a 6-4 SU edge, while LSU has a 5-3-2 ATS advantage over the L/10 meetings. The Vols had won at Tiger Stadium in three of the previous four meetings before the ’07 defeat.

Saturday, October 2nd: Texas Longhorns @ Oklahoma Sooners
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Longhorns have covered seven straight following a double digit home loss
Texas is 11-5 ATS following an SU defeat
Oklahoma is 9-4-1 ATS in its L/14 against the Big XII

Series History
These two teams certainly don’t like each other, and it’s going show once again on Saturday in the Red River Rivalry. Texas has won two straight and four out of five, going 4-0-1 ATS since 2005. Before that though, this series simply belonged to Oklahoma. The Sooners posted an aggregate victory of 189-54 in five covers from 2000 to 2004.

Saturday, October 2nd: Wisconsin Badgers @ Michigan State Spartans
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Wisconsin is only 6-13 ATS in its L/19 road games
Michigan State is just 3-7-1 ATS in its L/11 overall
The Badgers are just 1-3 ATS in 2010

Series History
Home teams have won five straight in this series dating back to 2003, though it hasn’t always been that way from an ATS standpoint. Wisconsin covered two straight in ’08 and ’09, but before that in ’04 and ’07, Sparty proved to be the right side. The L/3 meetings have been decided by a total of 12 points. Six of the L/7 have eclipsed the ‘total’.

Saturday, October 2nd: Michigan Wolverines @ Indiana Hoosiers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
Michigan is 2-7 ATS in its L/9 in October
The Wolverines are 3-7 ATS in their L/10 road games
Indiana is only 3-7 ATS in its L/10 played in October

Series History
You have to go back quite some ways to find the last time that Indiana won a game in this series, but it nearly pulled off the shocker last year in the Big House. Facing an 18.5 point spread, the Hoosiers came into Ann Arbor and led the Wolverines for a good chunk of the game before succumbing 36-33. It marked their first cover in this series since 2003, a stretch of three straight games.

Saturday, October 2nd: Stanford Cardinal @ Oregon Ducks
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Cardinal have covered four straight following an SU victory
Stanford is just 3-7 ATS in its L/10 road games against teams with a winning home record
The Ducks are just 5-12 ATS in their L/17 when they are favored by less than ten points

Series History
Before last season’s 51-42 Stanford win, this series was really all one way traffic for the Quack Attack. Oregon had won eight straight and covered seven of the eight, including all of the meetings from 2002 to 2007. This is typically a higher scoring series as well, as the L/5 have all gone past the ‘total’, with the lowest ‘total’ of the bunch was 52.5 in that stretch.

Saturday, October 2nd: Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ Boston College Eagles
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Irish are 4-11 ATS in their L/15 overall
BC is 5-16 ATS in its L/21 against teams with losing records
The Eagles have covered three of the L/4 and six of the L/10 in this series

Series History
The Irish broke Boston College’s six game winning streak in this battle of the two Catholic schools last year with a 20-16 win in South Bend. However, that victory didn’t result in a cover. The last time Notre Dame both covered and won against the Eagles in the same year was in 2000, a 28-16 victory. The L/3 have all gone ‘under’ the number, while no team has scored in the 30s in this series since 1999.

Saturday, October 2nd: Florida Gators @ Alabama Crimson Tide
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Gators are 12-3 ATS in their L/15 roadies
Florida is 23-6 ATS in its L/29 against teams with a winning record
The Gators are 19-7 ATS in their L/26 overall

Series History
Recent history tells you that the winner of this game wins the National Championship… At least that’s been the case the L/2 seasons in the SEC Championship Game. The teams are both 1-1 SU and ATS over the L/2 years. The last regular season meeting came in 2006 in Gainesville, a 28-13 win for the Gators. The Tide last won in the regular season at home in 2005 by the count of 31-3. Each team won on the road in 1998 and 1999, but Alabama had covered five straight and went 6-0-1 ATS from 1994 until 2006.

Saturday, October 2nd: Penn State Nittany Lions @ Iowa Hawkeyes
NCAA Football Trends of Note
The Hawkeyes are 8-2 ATS in their L/10 against PSU
Iowa is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 in October
The Hawkeyes are 12-4 ATS in their L/16 against teams with a winning record

Series History
For whatever reason, the Hawkeyes just seem to have Joe Pa’s number. The Nittany Lions have been favored in this series in four straight and nine out of ten dating back to 1996, but they are only a woeful 2-8 SU. These teams have played some ugly encounters as well, including a 6-4 final in Happy Valley in 2004 and last year’s 21-10 final, also in University Park. Iowa hasn’t lost to Penn State at home since 1999, but even then it covered the four TD spread.

Week 3 of the NFL season is right around the corner! The handicapping experts of Bankroll Sports have key releases for you this weekend. Props and free picks will be available to you on our sports blog as well. However, to kick off this NFL betting week, we’re going to take a look at the most important NFL trends and matchup histories for the Week 3 NFL matchups.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 ET: Dallas Cowboys @ Houston Texans
NFL Trends of Note
-The Texans are 4-0-1 ATS in their L/5 played on grass
-Houston is 2-5 ATS it its L/7 Week 3 tussles
-The Cowboys are 5-11 ATS in their L/16 roadies

Series History
The Cowboys return to the scene of the crime where Houston won its first game in franchise history in 2002 19-10. Since then, the teams have only met once, with Dallas winning 34-6 at home in ’06. These squads met in the preseason this year at Reliant Stadium with the Texans winning 23-7 for their first ‘W’ in the exhibitions.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots
NFL Trends of Note
-Buffalo is 4-9 ATS in its L/13 against the AFC East
-New England is 22-8-1 ATS in its L/31 following an SU defeat
-The Pats are 7-3 ATS in their L/10 when scoring 15 or less in their previous game

Series History
This has been an awful series for Buffalo both SU and ATS of late. Thirteen straight times that these two teams have met, the Pats have been victorious, and they are a rock solid 6-1 ATS over their L/7 meetings. The road team is 8-2 ATS in the L/10, including last year when Buffalo nearly shocked New England in a 25-24 defeat here at Gillette Stadium.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Atlanta Falcons @ New Orleans Saints
NFL Trends of Note
-The Falcons are 9-4 ATS in their L/13 against the NFC
-New Orleans is 2-7 ATS in its L/9 against the NFC
-The Saints are 2-6 ATS in their L/8 as favorites

Series History
The Saints have won three straight in this series, but if you look at the NFL betting results last year, all signs point to the Falcons. Atlanta only lost 26-23 at home and 35-27 in the Louisiana Superdome to New Orleans, and we could be in for another close one. The winning team has posted at least 22 points in all ten meeting since 2005 between these two NFC South rivals.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
NFL Trends of Note
-The Steelers are 10-4-1 ATS in their L/15 against teams with a winning record
-The Bucs are 4-1 ATS in their L/5 following an SU win
-Tampa Bay is 9-4-1 ATS over the L/14 years in Week 3

Series History
These games haven’t been for the feint at heart in recent years. Dating back to 1998, these teams have met four times, with all four meetings being ugly, low scorers. The Bucs haven’t topped ten points against Pittsburgh since 1989 and is winless ATS since 1998. The Steelers haven’t scored more than 20 in a game in this series since ’89 either, but have covered three straight NFL spreads dating back to the turn of the millennium.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Tennessee Titans @ New York Giants
NFL Trends of Note
-The Titans have covered four straight in this series
-New York is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 on field turf
-The Giants are just 3-10 ATS in their L/13 overall

Series History
As we’ve already suggested, the Titans have been the dominating team in this series. They have four straight wins both SU and ATS under their belt, and they haven’t been beaten by the G-Men since they were the Houston Oilers and Warren Moon was quarterbacking the team. The last meeting came in 2006, with the Titans pulling out a 24-21 victory at home.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Detroit Lions @ Minnesota Vikings
NFL Trends of Note
-Detroit is 5-16 ATS in its L/21 on field turf
-The Vikes are 5-1-1 ATS in their L/6 home games
-Minnesota is 3-1-1 ATS over the L/5 years in Wk 3

Series History
Detroit has lost 12 straight times that it has come to Minnesota, and with Brett Favre and the Vikes at 0-2 this year already, that streak had better continue if the men in purple think they’re making the postseason. The Lions haven’t won a game since 2007 in this series, but the good news is that they have gone 2-1-1 ATS since 2008.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Cleveland Browns @ Baltimore Ravens
NFL Trends of Note
-The Browns are 7-2 ATS in their L/9 overall
-Cleveland is 8-3 ATS in its L/11 played in Wk 3
-The Ravens are 11-2 ATS in their L/13 against teams with a losing record

Series History
The old Cleveland Browns meet the new Cleveland Browns, and since these two franchises started battle against each other, it has been mostly one way traffic for the men in black and purple. The Ravens have four straight wins and covers in this series dating back to 2008, while Cleveland knows that it covered five straight in the series from ’06 to ’07 including a playoff tussle.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: Cincinnati Bengals @ Carolina Panthers
NFL Trends of Note
-Rookie starting quarterbacks are 0-2 SU and ATS on the season
-The Bengals are 2-8 in their L/10 overall
-The Panthers are only 1-5 ATS including the preseason this year

Series History
The Bengals have never had any luck against the Panthers. This was the scene of the worst defensive effort in the history of Cincinnati football, as Carolina has a 52-31 win to its credit here. These two teams have only met three times, with Carolina owning a 2-0-1 ATS edge. The home team has won all three games, with the most recent performance being a 17-14 win for the Bengals over the Panthers in 2006 at Paul Brown Stadium.

Sunday, September 26th, 1:00 PM ET: San Francisco 49ers @ Kansas City Chiefs
NFL Trends of Note
-San Fran is 9-2-2 ATS in its L/13 against teams with a winning record
-The Niners are 13-6-4 ATS in their L/23 overall
-KC is 6-16 ATS in its L/22 at Arrowhead Stadium

Series History
KC has covered both meetings of these traditional old school powerhouses dating back to 2000. The Chiefs stomped San Fran 41-0 here at Arrowhead in ’06. The last regular season cover at Arrowhead Stadium for the 49ers dates back to the 1980s.

Sunday, September 26th, 4:05 PM ET: Philadelphia Eagles @ Jacksonville Jaguars
NFL Trends of Note
-The Eagles have covered four straight in Week 3
-Jacksonville has gone 5-1 ATS in its L/6 years in Week 3
-The Jags are 8-20 ATS in their L/28 overall

Series History
The poor Eagles haven’t stood a chance this series. This is the only team in the NFL that they have never beaten. Jacksonville is 3-0 SU and ATS against the Eagles (and even has two covers in the preseason for what it’s worth). The Jags have averaged scoring 26.3 points per game in this series, while the Eagles haven’t even reached that number once in three tries. This is the third all-time meeting between these squads at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.

Sunday, September 26th, 4:05 PM ET: Washington Redskins @ St. Louis Rams
NFL Trends of Note
-The Skins are 2-6-1 ATS over the L/9 years in Week 3
-St. Louis is 9-21 ATS in its L/30 home games
-The Rams are 6-13 ATS in their L/19 on turf

Series History
The Rams, for whatever reason, have found a way to have Washington’s number in recent years. They nearly sprang the upset last year as ten point pups in Landover, losing 9-7, which marked their third straight cover in this series. The previous two outings were outright victories. St. Louis won on the road 19-17 as 12 point pups in ’08 and 37-31 in OT here at the Edward Jones Dome in 2006.

Sunday, September 26th, 4:15 PM ET: Oakland Raiders @ Arizona Cardinals
NFL Trends of Note
-The Raiders are winless in their L/6 following an SU victory
-Arizona is 5-1 ATS in its L/6 after an SU defeat
-The Cardinals are just 1-4 ATS in their L/5 in Week 3

Series History
Dating back to the beginning of the 2000s, this series has been short, but has belonged to Oakland. The Raiders are 2-0 SU and ATS, posting a 22-9 win in the Black Hole in 2006 and a 41-20 win in the desert in 2002. This is Oakland’s first visit to the relatively new University of Phoenix Stadium.

Sunday, September 26th, 4:15 PM ET: Indianapolis Colts @ Denver Broncos
NFL Trends of Note
-The Colts are 7-2 ATS in their L/9 on the road
-Indy is 9-3-1 ATS in its L/13 on grass
-The Broncos are just 9-21-1 ATS in their L/31 at home

Series History
The Colts just love running into Denver on the schedule. They are 3-0 SU and ATS since 2006 and have posted some absolutely huge wins over the Broncos in their time. Indy won 28-16 last year at home when these teams met and also have home victories of 38-20, 49-24, and 41-20 in recent years. The last trip to Mile High Stadium was a good one as well, as QB Peyton Manning and his band of merry men won 34-31 as short underdogs in 2006.

Sunday, September 26th, 4:15 PM ET: San Diego Chargers @ Seattle Seahawks
NFL Trends of Note
-The Chargers are 1-6 ATS in their L/7 following games in which they allowed 15 points or less
-San Diego is 5-2 ATS in its L/7 roadies
-The Seahawks are 3-10 ATS in their L/13 as underdogs

Series History
These two teams used to share a division together, but they have only met twice since Seattle moved to the NFC. The Seahawks lost 20-17 here at Qwest Field in 2006, but came away with a 31-28 overtime win at Qualcomm Stadium in 2002. The road team has won three straight outright in this series and is 2-1 ATS in those three.

Sunday, September 26th, 8:20 PM ET: New York Jets @ Miami Dolphins
NFL Trends of Note
-The Jets are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 against the AFC
-Miami is 8-1 ATS in its L/9 in division
-The Fins are 8-3 ATS in their L/11 in conference

Series History
These two teams hate each other. What was once a series that belonged to the Jets from the days of Jumbo Elliott catching TD passes has now flipped. Miami has won three straight over New York, all three of which have come as underdogs. The Jets weren’t defeated ATS from that point back through the mid 2000s. Miami’s only home win in this series since 2005 came last year, a 31-27 decision in the middle of October.

Monday, September 27th, 8:30 PM ET: Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears
NFL Trends of Note
-The Pack are 8-1-1 ATS in their L/10 on grass
-Green Bay is 10-3 ATS in its L/13 against the NFC North
-Chicago is just 1-7 ATS in its L/8 on natural grass

Series History
The Packers won both games last season and have covered four straight dating back to 2008. The last time the Bears covered a number against the Pack at home was in 2005, as Green Bay has really done a great job dominating the proceedings in this one. The road team won every game and covered every spread from December 2005 to October 2007 in this series.

Week 4 college football betting is here! Bankroll Sports is back with more NCAA football picks for Week 4 of the year, but before we do that, we need to take a look at the important trends and history that the teams that are facing against each other this week.

Thursday, September 23rd: Miami Hurricanes @ Pittsburgh Panthers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Canes are 3-13 ATS in their L/16 off of a bye week
-U-Pitt is 12-6 ATS in its L/16 games on grass
-The Panthers are 7-3 ATS in their L/10 at home

Series History
The Canes have won every meeting of these teams dating back to 1998, but this is the first time the squads have met outside of Big East play. Miami won 28-14 the last time it travel to Pitt, but the time before, it was a 27.5 point favorite. My, how times have changed now that the Canes are just short four point choices of the oddsmakers in a game that many think could go either way.

Friday, September 24th: TCU Horned Frogs @ SMU Mustangs
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Horned Frogs are 4-10 ATS in their L/14 against C-USA
-TCU is 5-1 ATS in its L/6 on the road
-SMU is 18-7-1 ATS in its L/26 against teams with a winning record

Series History
These two teams have met in each of the L/3 seasons, and though it looks like it would be a runaway for the 3-0 Horned Frogs, who have won the three games by an aggregate score of 108-28, that just isn’t the case. SMU holds a 2-1 ATS edge and is 5-2 ATS over the L/7 meetings against one of the mid-major powers of the country.

Saturday, September 25th: Virginia Tech Hokies @ Boston College Eagles
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Hokies are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 overall
-V-Tech is 22-9 ATS in its L/31 roadies
-BC is just 2-14 ATS in its L/16 against teams with a losing record, including an 0-2 mark this year

Series History
These two former Big East teams have met five times over the L/3 years, including twice in the ACC Championship Game. V-Tech is 3-2 SU and ATS. The favorite has won and covered four straight, and no road team has won in this series since 2003, save for BC winning in Blacksburg is 2007. The last time the Hokies won on Chestnut Hill came in 2002 as an 8.5 point favorite.

Saturday, September 25th: NC State Wolfpack @ Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-NC State is 5-0-1 ATS in its L/6 played in September
-The Wolfpack are 11-5 ATS in their L/16 in the ACC
-G-Tech is 7-1 ATS in its L/8 played in conference

Series History
Surprisingly, it has been the road team that has dominated this series of late, winning three straight and four out of five. The Ramblin’ Wreck are 5-1 SU in their L/6 against NC State and 4-1 ATS in their L/5 in this series as well. This is the first meeting of these ACC foes since 2006.

Saturday, September 25th: Stanford Cardinal @ Notre Dame Fighting Irish
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Cardinal are just 2-9 ATS in their L/11 against independent teams
-Notre Dame is 0-5 ATS in its L/5 following an ATS win
-The Irish are only 17-35 ATS in their L/52 under the watchful eyes of Touchdown Jesus

Series History
These annual rivals really hate each other, and for good reason. Stanford beat Notre Dame for the first time since 2002 last year, but the Irish are still dominating the NCAA football odds in this series. They have covered three straight and seven out of nine dating back to last the 2001 campaign.

Saturday, September 25th: Temple Owls @ Penn State Nittany Lions
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Owls are 11-5 ATS in their L/16 overall
-Penn State is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 against the MAC, including one cover already this season
-The Nittany Lions are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 against Temple

Series History
Needless to say, this is Temple’s best chance to win a game in this series a quite some time. These teams have met quite a bit since 1992, ten times to be exact, and this is the first time the Owls haven’t been dogs by at least 25 points. PSU didn’t cover last year in a 31-6 victory, but it hasn’t won a game by less than that 25 point margin in this series since 2003. Over the L/4 meetings, the Owls have scored a grand total of nine points and haven’t found the end zone more than once in a game against the Nittany Lions since 1995. They lost that game 66-14.

Saturday, September 25th: Alabama Crimson Tide @ Arkansas Razorbacks
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Tide are 9-2 ATS in their L/11 road games
-Arkansas is 6-2 ATS against teams with a winning record
-The Hogs are just 1-3 ATS in the L/4 meetings with Alabama

Series History
These two teams hate each other, as they meet every single September in the first month of SEC action. Arkansas hasn’t beaten Alabama since 2006, but the Tide have real reasons to be worried. They won in Fayetteville 49-14 in 2008, but before that, they had won here since 2002. Bama rolled to a 35-7 win last year in Tuscaloosa.

Saturday, September 25th: Wake Forest Demon Deacons @ Florida State Seminoles
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Deacs are 2-7 ATS in their L/9 road games
-Wake Forest is 8-3 ATS in its L/11 against teams with a winning record
-FSU is 2-6 ATS in its L/8 conference games

Series History
You think these two teams don’t like each other much? FSU certainly remembers that Wake Forest has won its last two trips to Tallahassee in a big way, winning 12-3 in ’08 and 30-0 in ’06. The Noles got a level of revenge last year, winning 41-28 on Tobacco Road, but for the dominant side in the ACC< that was their first win in this series dating back to 2005. The underdog has now covered six straight and has won four in a row outright.Saturday, September 25th: Kentucky Wildcats @ Florida Gators
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Gators are 22-6 ATS in their L/28 against teams with a winning record
-UF is 18-7 ATS in its L/25 overall
-The Wildcats are 0-3 ATS since 2007 in this series, but covered five straight before that

Series History
Don’t expect the Wildcats to be able to win this one, though. The Cats have been dominated in this series SU, as they haven’t beaten Florida in seemingly forever. UF has opened up a real can on UK over the L/2 seasons, winning be the aggregate score of 104-12.

Saturday, September 25th: South Carolina Gamecocks @ Auburn Tigers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Gamecocks are 1-4 ATS in their L/5 on the road against teams with a winning home record
-Auburn is 4-10 ATS in its L/14 following an ATS defeat
-The Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their L/5 at Jordan Hare Stadium

Series History
The SEC undercard battle this week is a goodie even though these two teams have only met four times in their history. The Tigers are a perfect 4-0 SU and have now been favored in all five games since 1996. South Carolina has leveled the ATS proceeding at two games apiece with each team going 1-1 ATS at home and on the road.

Saturday, September 25th: Oregon State Beavers @ Boise State Broncos
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Beavers are 10-1 ATS in their L/11 road games
-OSU is 8-3 ATS in its L/11 overall
-Boise State is 44-20-2 ATS in its L/66 on the Smurf Turf

Series History
The home team has won five of the six meetings of these teams both SU and ATS. However, there have only been four clashes of these rivals since the Broncos really hit the mainstream, and the hosts won all four games. Boise State holds a 3-0-1 ATS edge though in the L/4.

Saturday, September 25th: West Virginia Mountaineers @ LSU Tigers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Mountaineers have covered four straight against teams with a winning record
-WVU is 1-5 ATS in its L/6 games played on grass
-The Tigers are 4-11 ATS in their L/15 at Tiger Stadium

Series History
First meeting

Saturday, September 25th: California Golden Bears @ Arizona Wildcats
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-Cal is 6-14 ATS in its L/20 road games
-The Golden Bears are 7-2 ATS in their L/9 played on grass
-Arizona is 7-2 ATS in its L/9 played on grass

Series History
The home team has won five straight both SU and ATS in this series, with the most recent road victory coming by Cal in 2004 to the tune of 38-0 (however, it was a 23 point favorite that day). The Cats clawed as hard as they could last year, but they came up on the short end of a 24-16 decision as a 2.5 point pup.

Saturday, September 25th: Oregon Ducks @ Arizona State Sun Devils
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Ducks are 8-2 ATS in their L/10 overall
-Oregon is 8-3 ATS in its L/11 conference games
-The Ducks are 5-0 ATS over the L/5 years in this series

Series History
Needless to say, it has been all one way traffic for the Quack Attack. Oregon has dropped at least 35 points on ASU in five straight years, winning all five games outright as well as ATS. The last time ASU won a game at home in this series was in 2003 when it came away with a 59-14 whooping of the U of O.

However, to kick off this NFL betting week, we’re going to take a look at the most important NFL trends and matchup histories for the Week 2 NFL matchups.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 ET: Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers
NFL Trends of Note
-The Bucs are just 5-16 ATS in their L/21 on grass
-Carolina is 8-1 ATS in its L/9 vs. the NFC
-Rookie starting QBs are already 0-1 SU and ATS this season

Series History
The Bucs haven’t beaten the Panthers either SU or ATS since the first meeting of these two rivals in 2008. Carolina hasn’t been swept by Tampa Bay in a number of years, and the Bucs haven’t taken a duel on Tobacco Road since September 2007.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans
NFL Trends of Note
-Pittsburgh is just 2-8-1 ATS over the L/11 years in Week 2
-Tennessee is 3-7 ATS over the L/10 years in Week 2
-The Steelers are 5-1 ATS in their L/6 overall

Series History
These two teams flat out don’t like each other. They have met quite a bit in the playoffs and in the regular season in recent years, and the battles have, for the most part, gone to the home team. The host has won seven of the L/9 in this series with one road win coming for each team since that point as well. Pittsburgh won last year’s battle 13-10 in overtime in Steeltown by lost 31-14 the last time it played at LP Field.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Buffalo Bills @ Green Bay Packers
NFL Trends of Note
-The Bills are 12-3 ATS in their L/15 tries in Week 2
-Buffalo is 8-3 ATS in its L/11 road games
-The Packers are 8-1-1 ATS in their L/10 overall

Series History
Buffalo hasn’t visited Green Bay since 2002 and hasn’t scored a point there since 1997. The home team has won every game in this series dating back to 1991, which was the last time the Bills won a game in Lambeau Field. Buffalo is also 7-3 ATS over the L/10 meetings dating back to 1988 between these squads.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Kansas City Chiefs @ Cleveland Browns
NFL Trends of Note
-The Chiefs have covered five of their L/6 road games
-Cleveland is 6-0 ATS in its L/6 against the AFC
-The Browns are winless in their L/4 games ATS in September

Series History
Classics certainly don’t describe the games these teams have played in their histories. The Brownies have been all over the Chiefs since 2003, going 4-0 SU and ATS against them. Cleveland holds a 4-2 SU and ATS advantage all-time. The winning score in this series has been at least 31 points in four of the six meetings.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Arizona Cardinals @ Atlanta Falcons
NFL Trends of Note
-Arizona is just 7-22 ATS in its L/29 road games against teams with a losing home record
-The Falcons are a perfect 8-0 ATS in their L/8 following a game in which they held their opponent to 14 points or less
-Atlanta is 13-3 ATS in its L/16 following an SU defeat

Series History
The home team has won four straight and nine out of ten between these two teams in the regular season, but the key NFL trend to watch here in on the ‘over’. Three straight and seven of the L/8 have eclipsed the number, as the home team has scored at least 30 points in three straight and at least 29 in eight of the L/9.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Philadelphia Eagles @ Detroit Lions
NFL Trends of Note
-The Eagles are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 against teams with a losing record
-Detroit is 2-6-2 ATS in its L/10 against the NFC
-The Lions are 3-7-2 ATS in their L/12 overall

Series History
These two teams have only met five times since 1986, with Philly winning all five both SU and ATS. The Lions have been beaten by at least 17 in three of the five games and by at least three TDs twice in that stretch. Philly has averaged 35.6 PPG in its L/5 against the Lions. This is only Philadelphia’s second trip to the Motor City since the 1980s (30-13 ‘W’ in 2004).

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Chicago Bears @ Dallas Cowboys
NFL Trends of Note
-The Bears are 2-8 ATS in their L/10 overall
-Chicago is 2-8 ATS in its L/10 against the NFC
-Dallas is a rock solid 6-2 its L/8 home games

Series History
Chicago hasn’t beaten the Cowboys since 1998 and hasn’t beaten them in “Big D” since 1986 when they were still Super Bowl shuffling! Dallas owns a 5-2 ATS advantage between these conference foes since 1988. Seven of the L/9 have failed to exceed the ‘total’, as the losing team hasn’t scored more than 14 points in a game in this series since the early 1980s.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Miami Dolphins @ Minnesota Vikings
NFL Trends of Note
-The Fins are 6-1 ATS in their L/7 away from South Beach
-Miami is 11-25-1 ATS in its L/37 against teams with a losing record
-The Vikes are 5-0-1 ATS in their L/6 played at home

Series History
There certainly isn’t much of a history between these two teams, but the history that exists is all in favor of the home team. Miami won in 2006 24-20 when these teams collided in the Sunshine State, but Minnesota upset the Fins 20-17 at home in 2002. The only road win since the 1980s of these teams owns to Minnesota, which won 20-7 in 2001.

Sunday, September 19th, 1:00 PM ET: Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
NFL Trends of Note
-Baltimore is 11-1 ATS in its L/12 against teams with a losing record
-Cincinnati is 7-3 ATS in its L/10 against teams with a winning record
-The Bengals are 8-3 ATS in their L/11 against the Ravens

Series History
Last season, the Bengals were underdogs in both games in this season series and won both outright. Baltimore swept the season series in ’08, but before that, it was all Cincy. The Bengals, for whatever reason, love playing the Ravens, as they have a better record against the purple and black since ’05 than against any other team in the AFC North.

Sunday, September 19th, 4:05 PM ET: Seattle Seahawks @ Denver Broncos
NFL Trends of Note
-Seattle is just 1-8 ATS in its L/9 road games
-The Seahawks are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 against teams with a losing record
-Denver is only 8-21-1 ATS in its L/30 games at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium

Series History
These two teams used to share a division together, but since splitting up, the only meeting was a 23-20 win for the Seahawks on the road here in the Mile High City. The home team won three of the four between 2000 and 2001 before the Seahawks switched over to the NFC.

Sunday, September 19th, 4:05 PM ET: St. Louis Rams @ Oakland Raiders
NFL Trends of Note
-St. Louis is 2-8 ATS in its L/10 games on grass
-The Raiders are 16-38-1 ATS in their L/55 against teams with a losing record
-Oakland is just 17-38-1 ATS in its L/56 at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum

Series History
The Rams posted a shutout over the Raiders in their last meeting in 2006 (20-0). Oakland hasn’t traveled to St. Louis since 2002 and hasn’t beaten the Rams since 1997. St. Louis is 3-0 ATS against the Raiders in the 2000s.

Sunday, September 19th, 4:15 PM ET: New England Patriots @ New York Jets
NFL Trends of Note
-New England is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 played in Week 2
-The Jets are 7-3 ATS in their L/10 overall
-The Pats are 10-4-1 ATS in the L/15 against the Jets

Series History
More bad news for the men in green… The road team is 19-7-1 ATS over the L/27 in this series. The Jets could be in some serious trouble if they don’t come up with an upset like they did last year in this same week of the season against the Pats. New England has won seven of the L/10 in this series SU and six of the ten ATS.

Sunday, September 19th, 4:15 PM ET: Jacksonville Jaguars @ San Diego Chargers
NFL Trends of Note
-Jacksonville is 7-23 ATS in its L/30 played on grass
-The Jags are 8-20 ATS in their L/28 against teams with a losing record
-San Diego is 19-93 ATS in its L/31 games following an SU loss

Series History
These teams have only met three times since the Jags have been in existence, and it’s been all one way traffic for the home team. Jacksonville won the last meeting 24-17 in 2007, but the home team is 3-0 SU and ATS. The favorite is also 2-1 SU and ATS, with the only upset belonging to the 2004 Chargers, who upset Jacksonville 34-21.

Sunday, September 19th, 4:15 PM ET: Houston Texans @ Washington Redskins
NFL Trends of Note
-The Texans are 5-2-2 ATS in their L/9 against teams with a winning record
-Washington is 6-2-1 ATS in its L/9 overall
-Houston is just 2-8 ATS in its L/10 against teams with a winning home record

Series History
This will only be the third meeting ever between these two teams. This is one of the few teams that the Texans have never beaten. Houston lost 31-15 at home to the ‘Skins in 2006 and was dropped 26-10 in its inaugural season in 2002 in its lone visit to Landover.

Sunday, September 19th, 8:20 PM ET: New York Giants @ Indianapolis Colts
NFL Trends of Note
-The Giants are 7-1 ATS in their L/8 games on field turf
-The G-Men are 3-9 ATS in their L/12 overall
-New York is 23-8 ATS in its L/31 road games

Series History
Manning Bowl I went to the elder Manning, as Peyton’s boys pummeled the G-Men 26-21 in 2006. This is Eli’s first visit to Peyton’s Place. The road team is 3-0 both SU and ATS in this series dating back to 1999. New York holds a 3-2 ATS and SU edge since 1990.

Monday, September 13th, 8:30 PM ET: New Orleans Saints @ San Francisco 49ers
NFL Trends of Note
-The Saints are 7-1-1 ATS in their L/9 games on grass
-San Fran is 8-2-2 ATS in its L/12 against teams with a winning record
-The Niners are 16-5 ATS in their L/21 Monday Night Football betting clashes

Series History
The Saints are a rock solid 10-2 ATS in their L/12 against San Fran, which could be bad news for the already 0-1 Niners. New Orleans hasn’t lost a game in this series since 2002 in the postseason, and hasn’t dropped a regular season duel since 2001.

-The Bearcats are 6-2 ATS in their L/8 Thursday Night Football appearances
-Cincinnati has failed to cover seven straight overall
-NC State is 9-3-1 ATS in its L/13 at home

Series History

Friday, September 17th: Kansas Jayhawks @ Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Jayhawks are just 2-9 ATS in their L/11 overall
-Kansas is only 2-6 ATS in its L/8 against C-USA foes
-Southern Miss is 4-1 ATS in its L/5 following an SU win

Series History
These two teams met for the first time last season in Lawrence, and my, was it a heck of a fight! Southern Miss ended up losing 35-28, but it had no trouble pushing KU to the limit and deservedly earned a cover against an 11.5 point spread.

Friday, September 17th: California Golden Bears @ Nevada Wolfpack
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-Cal is 6-13 ATS in its L/19 road games
-The Wolfpack are 26-12 ATS in their L/38 home games
-The Golden Bears are 6-1 ATS in their L/7 played in September

Series History
The Golden Bears have only played Nevada once before, cashing in on a 33-15 victory in Berkeley. That game was way back in 1996 though, so there isn’t much in the way of a history of note.

Saturday, September 18th: Maryland Terrapins @ West Virginia Mountaineers
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-Maryland is 2-5-1 ATS in its L/8 road games
-West Virginia is only 5-12 ATS in its L/17 overall
-The Mountaineers are only 3-12 ATS in their L/15 against the ACC

Series History
These two teams met every season for quite awhile, but they haven’t clashed on the gridiron since 2007. The Mountaineers have covered three straight in this series and have won four straight SU. The favorite is 9-4 ATS in the L/13 meetings of these two close rivals. The winning team has scored at least 31 points in nine of the L/10.

Saturday, September 18th: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets @ North Carolina Tar Heels
NCAA Football Trends of Note

-The Yellow Jackets are 18-8-1 ATS in their L/27 following an ATS defeat
-North Carolina is 5-2-1 ATS in its L/8 following a bye week

Series History
North Carolina had covered every spread in this series from 2004 to 2008, but it had only won two of those five games. The Jackets came up with a huge 24-7 win last year which helped propel them to the ACC Coastal championship. The home team has won six of the L/7 SU.

Saturday, September 18th: Arkansas Razorbacks @ Georgia Bulldogs
NCAA Football Trends of Note
-The Hogs are 6-1 ATS in their L/7 following an ATS win
-Georgia is 4-10 ATS in its L/10 home games
-Underdogs that were ranked last week went 0-4 SU and ATS

Series History
Georgia hasn’t been beaten in this series since 1993, but the Bulldogs are only 4-2 ATS in those six games. The last time these two squads met “Between the Hedges” was back in 2005, when Arkansas nearly pulled off the outright upset as 17.5 point underdogs, losing 23-20.

Saturday, September 18th: Florida Gators @ Tennessee Volunteers
Trends of Note
-The Gators are 11-3 ATS in their L/14 road games
-Tennessee is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 games on grass
-The Vols are 7-3 ATS in their L/10 SEC duels

Series History
The Gators are back to their old ways of dominating this series, just as they did for seemingly the entire 1990s. They have won five straight overall in this series, but the Vols did a great job last year of sticking in front of the 30 point spread in a 23-13 defeat in the Swamp. The Volunteers were smoked here 30-6 two years ago.

Saturday, September 18th: Nebraska Cornhuskers @ Washington Huskies
College Football Trends of Note
-The Huskers are 6-1-1 ATS in their L/8 outside of the Big XII
-Washington is 5-1 ATS in its L/6 home game
-The Huskies are 4-1-1 ATS in their L/6 against the Big 12

Series History
These two teams played home and home series in both 1991-92 and 1997-98. Both teams have ultimately won one game at home and one on the road in this series, but the favorite is 3-1 ATS in the four encounters.

Saturday, September 18th: Air Force Falcons @ Oklahoma Sooners
College Football Trends of Note
-Air Force is 6-2 ATS in its L/8 games overall
-The Sooners are 12-3-1 ATS in their L/16 played in September
-OU is 0-4 ATS in its L/4 following an ATS win

Series History
Air Force has already felt the wrath of the Sooners once before in life, getting stomped 44-3 in Colorado Springs. That was the first and only meeting to date between these two schools.

Saturday, September 18th: Alabama Crimson Tide @ Duke Blue Devils
College Football Trends of Note
-Alabama is 8-2 ATS in its L/10 road games
-The Crimson Tide are 13-5 ATS in their L/18 played on grass
-Duke is just 16-34-1 ATS in its L/51 home games

Series History
Alabama knocked off the Dookies 30-14 in 2006 in Tuscaloosa, but the guests had no problem covering the 26.5 point spread. This will be just the second meeting of these two squads.

College Football Trends of Note
-USC is 9-1 ATS in its L/10 vs. the Big Ten
-The Trojans are just 2-8 in their L/10 overall
-Minnesota is 3-7 ATS in its L/10 against teams with a winning record

-Florida State is 6-1-1 ATS in its L/8 after scoring 20 points or less in a game
-The Noles are 1-6 ATS in their L/7 games at Doak Campbell Stadium

Series History
Last year, the Seminoles marched into Provo and beat the snot out of the Cougars 54-28 in a big upset. FSU has won all three lifetime meetings between these two schools, including a 29-3 win at a neutral site in 2000 and proved victorious in a 44-28 triumph in 1991. The Noles are 2-1 ATS in the three clashes.

-Clemson is just 2-6 ATS in its L/8 against the SEC
-Auburn is 1-5-1 ATS in its L/7 against the ACC

-Wyoming is 4-12-1 ATS in its L/17 home games

Saturday, September 18th: Notre Dame Fighting Irish @ Michigan State Spartans
College Football Trends of Note
-Notre Dame is 3-10 ATS in its L/13 overall
-The Spartans are just 2-6-1 ATS in their L/9 overall
-The road team is 8-1 ATS in these two teams’ L/9 meetings

Series History
We’ve already mentioned how strong the road team has been in this rivalry. However, the Spartans have covered three straight in spite of the fact that a two game winning streak was stopped with last year’s 33-30 loss in South Bend.

Saturday, September 18th: Mississippi State Bulldogs @ LSU Tigers
College Football Trends of Note
-The Bulldogs are 9-4 ATS in their L/13 games in September
-The Tigers are 2-8 ATS in their L/10 following wins of at least 20 points
-LSU is 5-15-1 ATS in its L/21 games played in the Bayou
