Alabama Crimson Tide CheerleaderWeek 1’s college football schedule is just about set to get started, and here at Bankroll Sports, we are going to be taking a look at all of the games that are on the slate for the week ahead! Below, you will find a full listing of all of the Week 1 college football odds and betting lines, along with a discussion regarding some of the best games that are going to be on the Week 1 NCAA football schedule.

We’ll start right at the top on the first Thursday night of the season. The South Carolina Gamecocks are the only Top 25 team in action to start off the year, and they are going to have a tough game on the road against the Vanderbilt Commodores to start off SEC play. No one is really expecting to see Head Coach Steve Spurrier and company struggle all that much this time around, though the wonder is there whether the ‘Dores are going to be able to put up a fight in the unusually somewhat weak SEC East. Vandy is the home team, but as expected, it is a 7-point underdog to start off the campaign.

There are four new teams that are going to be playing their first FBS games this year, including the Massachusetts Minutemen, South Alabama Jaguars, Texas State Bobcats, and San Antonio Roadrunners. U-Mass starts off on Thursday night on the road against the Connecticut Huskies, and the fledging program is +25 in spite of the fact that UConn is expected to have one of the worst programs in the Big East this year. Also on the first night of the season, either South Alabama or Texas San Antonio will be getting their first win, as these two teams are playing each other in ‘Bama. The Jaguars figure to have the sturdiest program coming into FBS this year, and they are probably rightfully -6.5 at home. Texas State opens up on Saturday on the road against the Houston Cougars. The Cougs will be playing their first game without QB Case Keenum, but they are still expected to romp right through this one. The C-USA reps are -36.5, amongst the biggest favorites on the board.

The other showcase game to start off the season pits the Washington State Cougars against the BYU Cougars. This Cougar showdown is probably going to be a rather one-sided affair in Provo, but considering the fact that just four of the nine games on the first night of the season feature spreads of nine points or fewer, this shouldn’t be considered all that much of a surprise. BYU gets the nod in this one by 13.5.

Three games are on the college football schedule for Friday night. No one expects to see the Stanford Cardinal (-25.5) struggle against the San Jose State Spartans in their first game without QB Andrew Luck. The Tennessee Volunteers and NC State Wolfpack are going to battling it out in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome in a clash of middling teams in the SEC and ACC respectively. With the game being played in the heart of SEC Country, it is no surprise that Tennessee, opening up a very important season under Head Coach Derek Dooley, is a four-point favorite.

The key game on the Friday docket though, pits the Boise State Broncos up against the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans have a heck of a schedule this year, and they are going to be in for quite the battle on Friday. This will be the debut for QB Andrew Maxwell, who is taking over for QB Kirk Cousins. Boise State has to undergo a massive change from the teams that have won just a slew of games over the course of the last few years. For the first time in four years, a quarterback not named Kellen Moore is going to be leading the troops out of the tunnel for the boys from the Smurf Turf. That doesn’t mean that QB Joe Southwick can’t get the job done, but he is going to have a tough time here in East Lansing. Michigan State is favored by a touchdown on Friday night. We have seen some crazy start times for college football betting affairs, but perhaps we have never seen anything quite like what we are going to be seeing at the top of the mornin’ on the first Saturday of the regular season. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are going to be playing in the land of the real Irish, Dublin to be exact. The Golden Domers are playing in the Irish Motherland against the Navy Midshipmen in a 9:00 a.m. ET start. QB Tommy Rees has been suspended for this one for Notre Dame, but the Fighting Irish are still getting the nod by 17 points over what has really turned into a rather hapless Naval Academy football program.

The first game for the Penn State Nittany Lions since the finalization of the Jerry Sandusky situation could turn out to be a disaster. The Ohio Bobcats are coming to Happy Valley, and they are going to want to represent themselves well against a national power. PSU has had a ton of problems in this offseason on the field and off of it, and this is a dangerous game against a veteran team out of the MAC. The Bobcats are only six-point underdogs, but they definitely could be in for an upset when push comes to shove, and such a small college football betting line suggests just that.

As always on the Week 1 NCAA football betting lines, we have a ton of teams that are favored by just outrageous margins. Amongst them include the West Virginia Mountaineers (-24 vs. Marshall), Ohio State Buckeyes (-22.5 vs. Miami OH), Georgia Bulldogs (-37.5 vs. Buffalo), Florida Gators (-29 vs. Bowling Green), Texas Longhorns (-28.5 vs. Wyoming), Houston (already mentioned at -36.5 vs. Texas State), USC Trojans (-39 vs. Hawaii), Oklahoma Sooners (-30.5 @ UTEP), Oregon Ducks (-35.5 vs. Arkansas State), and the biggest of all, the LSU Tigers, who are -43 at home against the North Texas Mean Green.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some great clashes that are going to be played over the course of the rest of the day, though. It’s strange to be seeing the Boston College Eagles and the Miami Hurricanes playing this early in the season, but the two are going to be having at it for sure. No, these teams aren’t powers like they were in the Doug Flutie days, but both know that they are going to need a few wins in the ACC this year to reach bowl eligibility. With this one in Chestnut Hill, the Eagles are getting some respect, but they are still just one-point favorites.

That night back in Hot ‘Lanta, the Georgia Dome will be hosting its second game. The Clemson Tigers and Auburn Tigers are going to be fighting it out in what will look a heck of a lot like a potential Peach Bowl. In fact, these two have met in this venue a number of times before. The stakes could be higher this time around, especially for a Clemson team that is trying to prove that it can legitimately contend for a National Championship this year. Is it farfetched? Probably. But if the Tigers can’t beat the three-point spread in a neutral site game against Auburn to start off the year, there will be no doubt that they won’t be able to contend for much more than an ACC title.

But of course, the game of all games on the Week 1 College Football Schedule is the clash in Arlington between the Michigan Wolverines and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The defending BCS National Champions know that they are going to have their work cut out for them in this one, but they are going to hope to flex their muscles as they did against the Big Ten over the course of the last two seasons against Penn State. QB Denard Robinson has more on the line in this game than any individual probably has in quite some time. He is as explosive of a player as the Tide will ever see, and with a defense that could be doing some rebuilding this year, Robinson might be able to find some cracks. If the Wolverines can pull this one off, it would easily be the biggest win in the brief coaching career for Head Coach Brady Hoke, and it would really make the National Championship race this year wide open. Click Here for our Michigan vs. Alabama Preview, as it was the No. 3 game in our countdown of the Top 25 NCAA Football Matchups of 2012.

Most weekends, college football betting is said and done with on Saturday, but this week, there are still three more games to choose from. The two clashes on Saturday really might not be anything all that special. The Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals play their annual Battle for the Commonwealth on Sunday, a game which features the Cards as 13.5 point favorites. The SMU Mustangs are also going to be on the road against the Baylor Bears, who are prepping for life without QB Robert Griffin III. Baylor is favored by 10.5.

And finally, in what has become a great Labor Day tradition, the ACC opens up with its showcase game between the Virginia Tech Hokies and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The stakes are clearly going to be high in Blacksburg, knowing that the loser of this game is probably already going to be out of the ACC Championship hunt. With stakes this high, it is no wonder that this is one of the top games of the weekend even though only Virginia Tech is ranked in the Top 25 of these two teams. This should be a thrilling one that comes down to the wire, as the Hokies are favored by 7.5-points. This game is so important that it is also one of our Top 25 College Football Matchups of the Year, so don’t miss out on our Virginia Tech vs. Georgia Tech Game Preview.

And then there were four… There are only two games on the NFL schedule that are left before the Super Bowl, and here at Bankroll Sports, we’re taking a close look by doing our NFC Championship Preview and odds breakdown, and our AFC Championship Game preview and odds breakdown.

The first game on Sunday is the AFC Championship Game, pitting the Baltimore Ravens up against the New England Patriots. These two teams were the top two seeds in the conference, and save for a few weeks when the Houston Texans were in the fray, these were the top two teams in the AFC all season long.

Baltimore has taken the very, very tough road to reach this point, as it has had to play a number of tough games both at home and on the road this year. The Ravens are a perfect 7-0 in games against playoff teams this year, and they have to hope that they can keep that up when they go into Foxboro on Sunday.

The Patriots certainly have the talent to do some real damage though, and with the amount of just raw skill that they have out there on the field, they are deserving favorites. Sure, the schedule has been weak this year, and sure they don’t have a single win against a team that finished above .500 since last December, but the Pats can score on anyone. QB Tom Brady just torched the Denver Broncos for six TDs, and he is clearly the most talented and most playoff-experienced quarterback left in the bunch.

QB Joe Flacco has a history of winning playoff games on the road in big time spots, but it seems when push comes to shove, he just can’t get his team over the hump in the games like this one. The oddsmakers don’t have a lot of confidence that he can get the job done in this one, though. Baltimore is a 7.5 point underdog, while the ‘total’ is set at a rather lofty 50.5 in the AFC Championship Game.

**Click Here for the Best Sports Betting System in the World**

On the NFC Championship Game odds, we have two teams that hardly anyone saw coming. The New York Giants and the San Francisco 49ers were always considered good teams this year that were probably going to be in the playoffs, but in the end, no one really, truly thought that either was going to really have the goods to play in the Super Bowl.

The 49ers must admit that they caught a break when the Giants beat the Green Bay Packers. Not only do they probably end up getting the easier game, but they also avoid the trip into Lambeau Field and force the G-Men to travel across the country for their second trip to the Bay Area this season.

You aren’t going to find a hotter quarterback right now than QB Eli Manning, who has tossed six TDs in his two playoff games thus far in the postseason. The defense has gotten the job done for the Giants as well, as the pass rush has been all over the place against both the Falcons and the Packers. QBs Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers have to be thrilled that they aren’t going to be dealing with these pass rushers like DE Jason Pierre-Paul again this season.

That being said, the Niners are the hot commodity right now. No one believed that they could get the job done against QB Drew Brees and the mighty New Orleans Saints offense, and though they did allow 32 points and almost 500 yards of offense, they forced five turnovers and were largely the more aggressive of the two teams on both sides of the ball. They feel like they deserve to be here, and for the first time in his career, QB Alex Smith is getting the respect that he deserves after being a No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft all those years ago.

Smith has a chance to fulfill his destiny if he can just hold serve at home in this game. The Giants are up against it, as San Fran has now gone 8-1 SU and 8-0-1 ATS this year when playing by the Bay. The 49ers are favored by a field goal, while the ‘total’, which was set at the same 47 that this game landed on the first time these two teams met, has since dropped to 45.

It’s the second weekend on the NFL playoffs schedule, and here at Bankroll Sports, you aren’t going to want to miss out on the best analysis of the NFL odds that you’ll find on the internet!. There are a number of games that aren’t really expected to be all that close this weekend, but the battle on the NFL betting lines that is expected to be a tight one is the one that is starting it all off between the New Orleans Saints and the San Francisco 49ers. Consistently, we see the battles of offense versus defense going to the team that can chuck the pigskin all over the field, and that is what we are tending to already see with QB Drew Brees. Granted, no one in the history of the league has ever done it better in a single season than Brees did this year, and he proved it again by helping his team to 626 yards, an NFL record, in the first round of the playoffs.

San Fran is a totally different team though, as it runs the ball and plays sound defense. The ‘total’ on the Divisional playoff lines of 47.5 had to be ridiculously hard to come up with. The Saints have covered eight in a row and could be on the verge of something special. They are favored by 3.5 on the road and have their sights set on a rematch with the Pack from the opening night of the season at Lambeau Field. However, the 49ers have been disrespected all season long, and their 7-1 SU and 7-0-1 ATS marks here in San Fran cannot be overlooked.

On Saturday night, the New England Patriots are going to be back in action when they take on the Denver Broncos. It is going to be yet another case where QB Tim Tebow has to pull off a heck of a lot of magic on the road if he is going to keep his season alive. There is no doubt that he is the starting quarterback of this team from start to finish barring injury though, as he earned that right by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers, even if he only completed 10 passes in the entire game. QB Tom Brady has beaten a number of fantastic quarterbacks over the course of his career in the playoffs, and though this shouldn’t be the toughest task and it is certainly easier than the one that would have come from the Pittsburgh Steelers, it is one that will not be overlooked. The Pats are favored by 13.5, while the ‘total’ starts out at 50.5.

On Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens are going to play their first playoff game at home with QB Joe Flacco calling the shots. They’re going to be playing the Houston Texans, who will be on the road in the postseason in the first time in his career. Give Houston some credit for taking care of the Cincinnati Bengals in its first playoff game in team history. This is the one game that the team has absolutely nothing to lose. No one is expecting anything out of the Texans in this one after losing by 15 in Baltimore three months ago with nearly a full team. QB TJ Yates should have no hope of winning this game, but don’t tell that to Head Coach Gary Kubiak. He thinks that his team can win this game and win it outright. It’ll be a tall task, as Houston is a 7.5 point underdog. The ‘total’ is the lowest of the week at 35.5.

**Click Here for the Best Sports Betting System in the World**

Finally, the Green Bay Packers will start off their playoff push against the New York Giants, who are determined to make that push as short as possible. We have seen these Giants do some remarkable things before, including when they came right here to Lambeau Field in 2008 and beat these Packers in the final game for QB Brett Favre in his career in green and gold… Oh yes, and two weeks later, they were able to beat the team that might have been the most talented in the history of football, the 18-0 Patriots.

This Green Bay team is going to be a tough one to bounce though, as save for the game on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs, it really looked unstoppable. This isn’t just a team that wins games. It is a team that absolutely cripples teams at times. That being said, QB Eli Manning did all that he could have done when these teams met in the Meadowlands earlier this year. He led the team on the game-tying TD drive with less than a minute to play, but QB Aaron Rodgers had the last laugh and led the team on the game-winning field goal drive as the clock expired.

The Giants were the best looking team in the first weekend of the playoffs, winning 24-2 over the Atlanta Falcons, whom many picked for the upset. This week, they are facing a 9.5 point hill at Lambeau. The ‘total’ is the highest of the weekend on the NFL odds at 52.5.

The NFL Week 1 lines are always extremely tough to gauge, especially with three more weeks still to play before we reach the start of the games that count. This year, things will be even tougher, as training camps were shorter and rookies really didn’t get a chance to start playing until just a few weeks ago thanks to the NFL lockout. Still, these games are huge and are meaningful right out of the block.

The season kicks off on Thursday, September 8th with the defending Super Bowl champs, the Green Bay Packers hosting the Super Bowl winners from two years ago, the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are relatively hefty four point underdogs in this one, a certain sign of disrespect for a team that they finished with a better record than a year ago. If New Orleans is truly the better of these two teams, this will be a heck of a fight between two teams that are hoping to be in the NFC Championship Game this year.

This is the second straight season that the Houston Texans are going to open up against the Indianapolis Colts. Last year, Houston came away with a relatively easy 34-24 ‘W’ thanks to an absolutely amazing day by RB Arian Foster, who rushed for 231 yards and three TDs. This season, the Colts are in some trouble because there was no significant improvement in terms of personnel, and QB Peyton Manning now knows that he is out for at least the foreseeable future, if not for the entire season (as of Friday morning). Are his best days behind him? The oddsmakers think so, because Houston is a whopping nine point favorite on the Week 1 odds.

The week one schedule will also put the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers against one another. These two teams are almost always postseason clubs, and this year should be no exception. These are two veteran laden teams who hope to get back to AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs; where Pittsburgh ousted Baltimore a season ago. As always, this should be a hard hitting slug fest. Both road teams won in this series last year, with SS Troy Polamalu making the play of the game forcing a fumble on QB Joe Flacco. Think the oddsmakers know that this one will be close? The NFL week one odds have Baltimore favored by 2.5, the value of home field advantage against the Steelers.

Also in Week 1, we have a total of four nationally televised games instead of the usual two or three. We’ve already talked about New Orleans/Green Bay, but we haven’t spoken of the others yet. The Dallas Cowboys are four point underdogs at the New York Jets in what is slated to be the first regular season game back in the saddle for QB Tony Romo.

Monday Night Football features a pair of games, as the New England Patriots open up as 5.5 point favorites but have since raised to seven over the Miami Dolphins at Sun Life Stadium, and the Denver Broncos are three point choices of the oddsmakers at home against the Oakland Raiders.

There are only two teams that are favored by more than a TD in Week 1. One is Houston over Indianapolis. The San Diego Chargers are nine point favorites against the Minnesota Vikings as they hope to get this year off on the right foot after surprisingly missing out on the postseason last year.

‘Totals’ are generally a tad lower than usual on the NFL Week 1 betting lines. All but four games are featuring ‘totals’ of 41.5 or lower.

It should come as no surprise that the lowest ‘total’ of the week involves two of the nastiest teams in the league, the Ravens and the Steelers. These two almost always play games in the 20s or 30s, and this should be no exception. The oddsmakers have placed this ‘total’ at just 36, and if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate, that number could fly down into the low-30s by the time the ball is kicked off.

The clash between the other two AFC North teams, the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns is set just a half point lower at 35.5. Though these two have a history of playing some higher scoring affairs, these two teams are just brutally offensively challenged this year. The Bengals really have no clue how to stay out of their own way with QB Andy Dalton and a host of running backs and receivers that truly aren’t all that talented, and Cleveland didn’t go out in the offseason and pick up any real help for QB Colt McCoy.

One of the highest ‘totals’ of all the NFL week one lines was the 46 hung in the Houston/Indianapolis game. And why not? These two teams have played three straight games to at least 47 points, and a number of games in this series have gotten into the 50s and 60s. However, with QB Peyton Manning now in doubt, that ‘total’ has dipped to 43. The highest ‘total’ of the week is the 47 posted in the Green Bay/New Orleans opener.

It was definitely an interesting week of football on the Week 1 NFLX lines, as there were a number of big time blow outs, something that is not characteristic this early in the year. The New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers posted two of the biggest blowouts, winning games by 35 and 25 points respectively and posting dominating outings on both sides of the ball. QB Tom Brady didn’t suit for the Pats last week, nor did most of his first team offensive friends. Tampa Bay is at home on Thursday though, and that is good enough for the oddsmakers to make it a 2.5 point favorite.

A dozen home teams won last week, and this week, there are a slew of hosts that are favorites on the NFL Week 2 lines. This week, there are four teams that are favored by at least six points at home, including the Green Bay Packers (vs. the Arizona Cardinals), Baltimore Ravens (vs. the Kansas City Chiefs), Miami Dolphins (vs. the Carolina Panthers), and the New York Jets (vs. the Cincinnati Bengals).

Once again this week, there is only one team that is favored on the road. Last week, the Bucs pulled off a 25-0 romp over the Chiefs as we mentioned before as road favorites, and this week, the NFL odds are calling for a big win for the Washington Redskins over the Indianapolis Colts. Without QB Peyton Manning taking snaps, Indy was destroyed last week by the up and coming St. Louis Rams 33-10, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see similar this week, especially with Washington coming off of that 16-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the home opener.

‘Totals’ are all across the board this week as well. The lowest number of the bunch is the 32.5 on the board between the Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens. These two offenses combined for just two field goals in Week 1 of the preseason, and both field goals were scored by Baltimore. Now, both head coaches are going to try to get their acts together and get some TDs on the board. This might seem like an overreaction by the oddsmakers, but they kept the ‘totals’ in both of their first two preseason games relatively low as well, so this low of a number isn’t a surprise.

The highest ‘total’ is the 37.5 between the Pack and the Cardinals. Arizona’s first team offense struggled against the Oakland Raiders last week, but in the end, the team was good for 24 points. Green Bay had the exact opposite problem, putting up 17 points with the first teamers on the field and scoring absolutely nothing with the second team out there. The key is that both of these defenses are coming off of bad weeks in which they allowed teams to score in the mid-20s, which is why this ‘total’ is so much higher than most of the rest.

There is a nationally televised game every single night this week in the preseason NFL betting action. The Philadelphia Eagles are three point underdogs to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the battle of Pennsylvania on Thursday night on Fox. On Friday, Fox has a southern style showdown between the Atlanta Falcons and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are three point favorites. The NFL Network is going to showcase Saturday’s Houston Texans as 1.5 point favorites at home against the New Orleans Saints. Sunday Night Football on NBC debuts this week with the Dallas Cowboys at -1 on the NFL Week 2 odds against the San Diego Chargers. Things wrap up on Monday Night Football with the duel in the Meadowlands between the Chicago Bears and the New York Giants, where the hosts are 4.5 point favorites.

After weeks and weeks of waiting, the NFL odds are finally out for the first week of the preseason, and we are just days away from kicking it off! All 32 teams will be in action from Thursday through Monday, and the games are going to be hot and heavy for sure.

There are going to be a ton of new faces and old faces in new places to get used to this week. In the City of Brotherly Love, Head Coach Andy Reid will debut his brand spanking new secondary for the Philadelphia Eagles on the first night of football games in 2011, complete with Asante Samuel, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Nnamdi Asomugha. The Eagles will take on a Baltimore Ravens team which is going to try to figure out how to bolster its depth behind QB Joe Flacco in its exhibitions. The Eagles are three point home favorites.

These aren’t nearly the only home favorites around the 3-4 point range. In fact, 11 of the 16 home teams are favored by between 2.5 and 4.5 points on the Week 1 preseason NFL odds.

The biggest underdogs on the board are, to no surprise, the Indianapolis Colts. It has been seemingly forever since they have had a winning preseason, and we know that we are going to see very little of QB Peyton Manning. The St. Louis Rams are really an up and coming team and are still getting used to the idea of QB Sam Bradford being the face of the franchise. After beating the New England Patriots last year in Foxboro in the preseason, the Rams are seven point favorites on Saturday night.

There are going to be a ton of starting quarterbacks and potential starting rookies that are making debuts this week as well. The Jacksonville Jaguars will showcase Blaine Gabbert, the Cincinnati Bengals could be starting Andy Dalton, the San Francisco 49ers will surely give some time to Colin Kaepernick, the Tennessee Titans will have Jake Locker on display, the Minnesota Vikings will trot out Christian Ponder, and most importantly, the Carolina Panthers will turn to their potential savior, the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, Cam Newton. Veterans that are going to be with new teams of note include the Vikes with Donovan McNabb, the Arizona Cardinals with Kevin Kolb, the Washington Redskins with John Beck, and the Seattle Seahawks with Tarvaris Jackson.

Totals, as always, as incredibly low on the preseason NFL Week 1 betting lines. The lowest ‘totals’ are the 32.5s in the Pittsburgh/Washington game and the Tampa Bay/Kansas City game, while the highest is 35.5 in several different games.

Most of the moneyline prices are close as well. Save for the Rams and Colts, there are no favorites that are greater than -175 and no underdogs greater than +155.

There are also just two road favorites on the board on the Week 1 NFLX odds. The Green Bay Packers are two point favorites over the Cleveland Browns, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are favored by a point over the Kansas City Chiefs.

The week wraps up with Monday Night Football with the Houston Texans rolling out their new 3-4 defensive scheme against the New York Jets and their vaunted defense.

Complete List of NFL Divisional Playoff Lines Can Be Found Below

The NFL playoffs are officially in full swing, and we only have eight teams that are left trying to beat the Super Bowl odds to claim the Lombardi Trophy.

In the first playoff tussle in the second round of the postseason, the Baltimore Ravens are going to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. These two divisional rivals really hate each other, and it should show on the field on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 ET. The Ravens and Steelers each won on the other’s home field over the course of the regular season, and this will be the decisive battle to determine who will represent the division in the AFC Championship Game next week. This game will be one that is won by a defense, as it demonstrated by the fact that the ‘total’ has only been set at 36.5. However, if recent history is any indication, this isn’t a number that is truly low enough. However, both teams are throwing the ball more this year than they have in a lot of years in recent history, and there might be a lot more deep passing threats than you think. The oddsmakers remember that these two teams were only separated by three points in both of their first two meetings, and they have very appropriately made the hosts favorites on the NFL playoffs odds by 3.5 points.

You can bet that both of these teams are going to be rooting like all heck for the New York Jets this week. If they beat the New England Patriots in Foxboro, the AFC Championship Game will be played at either Heinz Field or M&T Bank Stadium next week.

These two AFC East foes hate each other about as much as the two combatants from the AFC North. Head Coach Rex Ryan and Head Coach Bill Belichick have a very deep history that goes back two years. The home team has won all four meetings of these teams since Ryan has taken over, but the one that really stings in the memory banks for the men in green and white was the 45-3 beat down in which nothing went right here at Gillette Stadium just six weeks ago. QB Tom Brady is most likely the league’s MVP this year, but he could be without one of his top targets, rookie TE Aaron Hernandez. Still, this is an offense that has scored at least 31 points in eight straight games, and it will be tough to stop. There’s a reason that the oddsmakers have lined the hosts as nine point favorites on the opening lines.

The Atlanta Falcons have to be wondering what they did to deserve this. They are playing their first game ever as the top seed in the NFC Playoffs, and they are subject to taking on one of the hottest teams in the league, the Green Bay Packers. The Pack did their job last week, hanging on at the death to beat the Philadelphia Eagles 21-16, and they now advance to the Divisional Round of the playoffs. RB James Starks is apparently going to be the man carrying the rock on a regular basis, as he had the second most yards on the ground in the first round of the playoffs with 123. The Falcons have a fantastic ground defense though, and QB Aaron Rodgers is going to have to play some big time ball to survive the trip to the Georgia Dome. The hosts are only favored by a single point, insinuating that the visitors are the better team even though they were the last team that made it into the playoffs this year in the NFC.

Finally, the biggest shocker still standing in the playoffs, the Seattle Seahawks, are going to be heading to a site that they already know they can win at, Soldier Field. They took down the Chicago Bears 23-20 in Week 6, and little did anyone know that they would be making a return trip in January. Things absolutely could not have worked out any better for the Bears, as they have gotten the most favorable draw that they have had since they were in the Super Bowl. QB Matt Hasselbeck was revived last week, while RB Marshawn Lynch made a fantastic, bust out performance for the Seahawks. They say that it takes everything that you’ve got to beat the champions, but Seattle is hoping that that just isn’t the case. The pro football odds are clearly stacked against the Seahawks here in the Windy City. In spite of the fact that they won this game as six point underdogs several weeks ago, they are 9.5 point underdogs on Sunday.
